Jesse Rogers is reporting....that the Cubs have made a trade, but doesn't know what it is.

Anyone know if Bruce Levine is reporting anything ?

If it is Harden, then the Cubs got pillaged. Beane gets the better deal in most trades he makes it seems. If the Cubs win it all, of course it's worth it. However, right now I'm extremely apprehensive about dealing with the rapacious Beane.

Without knowing anything about this, I'll say...

Harden = Good.

Any combo of players the Cubs would give up to give him = not as good.

I withhold the right to change my opinion once we have any actual information.

I would like them trading Murton to Oakland as Oakland would likely overvalue Murton.

Gallagher, Patterson, Murton if I heard right?

I know Murton is a Beane guy, usually hits for average and OBP.

I think Gallagher is going to be good but this is a trade that helps them now. I like it as long as Harden stays healthy.

Don't like to lose Gallagher, but you have to give something to get something. The Cubs needed a starter and we've got ourselves a pretty good one.

Cubs destroyed Oakland in that deal. I don't even care if Harden breaks down, and although I liked Sean Gallagher, who cares about Patterson and Murton?

Did I hear that right? Harden's been on the DL nine times?

Nine times? I don't remember him being on the DL nine times.

That's because he wasn't on the DL... he was ditching.

Well I'm just thrilled I'll never have to see Murton at the plate or in the field again for the Cubs. Praise the heavens. I'll bet Lou's happy too.

What is it that Billy sees in Murton? What's he going to do in Oakland? DH, and hit .280, with an OBP of .290? 5 HR's in that big park? Have fun!

Dude, he's a great contact hitter, why would you say that?

Steal for the Cubs.

Soriano and Fukudome our you outfielders for the next 4 years. You don't need Murton and Patterson.
Patterson might be something but who cares. You got a stud pitcher.

I can't believe the A's didn't hold out for more. They had 3 weeks. Somebody, with better prospects, might have gotten desperate.

Anyway, nice trade Hendry. Way to push it.

You really think so Darkside? I've never liked him. I know his career avg is around .290, but to me he just looks overmatched at the plate. I don't remember him doing much of anything to advance runners or hit sac flies, and it seems like he K's too much to be considered a contact hitter. But maybe the stats say otherwise, I don't know. All I know is, he can't play defense and doesn't hit for power. So unless he hits .330 with an OBP well over .400, I don't see his value to a team.

Why do you care about Murton?

Do you guys realize he can't play for the Cubs anyway.

You have Fukudome and Soriano locked up in long term deals!!!!!

Even if you like him where the fuck is he gonna play for you?
