Cubs have lost ten straight to the Marlins and have not beaten them since April 25th of 06. With the way Lee, Ram and Soto have been playing I'm not looking forward to this weekend.

On the bright side, starting pitching has been very good so far since the break.

Cubs should have a nice weekend, being back at home. Florida will probably have one game where their bats carry them. Cubs win 3 of 4.

2 bad base running plays in a row by Soriano. Finally gets out on the 2nd one.

Think its time to look for a lefty for the 'pen. Cotts sucks, and I think Eyre is a injury waiting to happen. I say trade for the guy from the Rockies, and he can be closer til Wood gets back, and then he can be the stud lefty out of the 'pen. I know on SportsCenter they were talking that the Rockies think they're back in it, so they may not be dumping players anymore.

They've been showing those 3, fairly good-looking bitches, all game long. We've basically watched them get drunk all night.

I finally said "fuck it" and jerked off to that blond bitch. I don't think she's amazing but Comcast has shoved her down my throat all day. What the hell. Another one makes my club. They know they are on TV cuz they were talking on their cell with somebody who told them.

is that what the three hotties comcast kept showing that BD liked (extended abbrv) will be doing to carlos in about an hour and a half?

he is still a head case but hopefully he can come out of it, Henry B might want to join the 3 hotties in the orgy after his major fuck up

What do they have against 1-2-3 innings? It is a win though.

Comcast found a hot brunette early in the game. Really hot. She was by the Cubs dugout. They only showed her once. She was one of those "bored looking girls" that his waiting to hit the bars with her boyfriend after the game.

I wish the Comcast Director would have made her the "Porn Theme" for this game instead of the 3 girls they focused on.

Dunno. He does have huge ears. And looks like the love child of Obama and Reggie Miller.

Stone has commented a few times that he hasn't been able to spot the heat all year and has likely lost confidence in it over time. Hes still a converted catcher and need to learn how to pitch.

I found it interesting that Lou pulled Howry with a right handed hitter up. Even though Howry retired his only two batters, Gonzalez scorched that ball that Derosa caught. I think Lou saw how hard that ball was hit and decided to pull the plug on howry.

At this point I don't think Lou has any confidence in anyone in the bullpen.

I think he just doesn't like pitchers in general.

It sure is great to be able to sit back and enjoy a solid, well-played ballgame like this. It is good to see the cubs back to winning every day, getting great clutch hitting, wonderful fielding, and some very instinctive, brilliantly conceived bullpen moves by Lou Piniella. The Cubs bench continues to produce, and is really coming into its own.

They are the best team in the National League, perhaps the majors, and i think the rest of the teams are starting to take note of it as well. Let's all just grab a beer, sit back, and enjoy what looks like a championship season.

Everyone, relax. The world is a good place right now, especially if you are a fan of the Chicago National League Ball Club.

The Sun times mentioned that Samardzija might get the start Saturday. I scratched my head at first but it might not be a bad move.

Have him start with Marshall ready to back him up, or vice versa. Move Harden to Monday (six days of rest vs 4) against the Brewers and move Lilly, Zambrano and Dempster back a day. The extra day of rest should help the rotation especially Harden and Zambrano. Carlos threw 125 pitches yesterday. The last time he threw nearly that many pitches, I believe against LA at Wrigley, he wasn't quite the same the next few starts, leading to his stay on the DL.

I like this plan as well, I would much rather have Harden going against the Brewers.

I like the plan as well, but there is an amusing sidebar. Harden's opponant wouldn't be the immortal, unbeaten, greatest thing since sliced bread CC would it?
