I think Lou is just playing along with the whole theme of "70's night" - have you seen the old cars that Ward drives?

Lou is also sitting the starting middle infield again.

Sit them while u can, because sept. is a pain in the ass month and if they do make the playoffs, maybe they wont run out of gas this time, cant blame Lou on this method.

I made a bet with my little brother that Ward would have 3 strikeouts, leave 5 on base, and have 1 fielding gaffe. So far so good.

Ugh. Hopefully, after the perfect storm we have going now, the Cubs can get it going.

This Ump is fucking terrible. You see weak fly after weak fly to Pence, because the Cubs are forced to swing at anything in the strikezone, as well as anything 3/4's of a plate outside the strikezone.

I gotta feeling this one's a washout. The weather in Chicago is only getting worse. So I think we can just write this game off as a shoulder shrug. The Cubs just sometimes come up dead against random unremarkable pitchers. But with Cedeno and Ward starting in place of Theriot and Lee, (oh and by the way, Ward hitting 3rd? Lou...you been drinkin?) the runs just aren't going to be there right away.

Atleast the Brewers lost and look to be self destructing again.

Did Ned Yost rip off his own head and shit down his own throat yet? I've got a feeling we are going to see an all-time meltdown from him before the year is over....

Has there been any update on the game?

It looks like the worst has moved out, and there are some moderate rain still passing through, but if they wait, it looks to me like they could finish this game, starting after 10:00 PM CT.

Prince Fielder and Manny Parra had to be separated in the dugout tonight; Fielder shoved him twice after "exchanging words". This Brewers collapse could be an absolute blast to watch this August!

They should just fire Yost now. It may be the only way to salvage their season. THe guy can;t manage under pressure and its rubbing off on their team.

Braun struck out on a horrible pitch to end the game with 2 guys on, Fielder had something to say to Braun on the way into the dugout and Braun didnt look to happy about it. Fielder will be a red sox or yankee next year.

I'm guessing by the end of the year he gives up his wife's vegetarian crap and is seen eating raw rack of lamb between innings in the dugout.

Wow. I'm watching Sports Center. They're gonna finish this game. But Sports Center said they evacuated all 41 thousand at the game cuz of a tornado warning.

I hope they all kept their stubs.

My question is where were the people suppose to go? To the bars? How is that safer? This is just the Cubs not wanting to be responsible if a tornado hit.

Safer than being in Wrigley. Despite being made of brick, if a tornado tore thru Wrigleyville, the seats, the scoreboard, and that upper deck would be the first things to go.

Would you want to be in the "House of fallen bricks" during a tornado? Anywhere is safer than Wrigley at that point.

Frank beat me to it.

True. But a lot of these people don't have cars when they go to Cubs games. They just send them into the streets and say "Good luck"?

I guess there were no "great" options. Wouldn't it be best to wait in the bowels of the stadium?

They're back playing.

Wow. A lot of people left. It's weird seeing Wrigley without every seat being full. It's been quite some time since they've had a half empty park.

It's not even half full. There might be only 6 or 8 thousand in the park.

Has Wrigley ever been that empty?

It sure does look strange.

Oh yeah. They had small crowds in the 1970s. It wasn't until 1984 that Wrigley became the "Party House".

Now they sell out every damn game. But they didn't always do that even in the 1990s. They'd have some 20 thousand days. Never this light however. It is weird seeing a Cubs game being played that is this empty.

My group left. We were in sec 105 in left field. We left pretty much as soon as the rain delay came... happy we got out of there when we did. About 10 minutes in the car and the alarm sirens were going off. Made it back to the Western burbs with about an hour to spare before the game restarted.

They had the camera on D Lee right before they delayed the game again. Lightning struck and Lee said "Oh shit". Then they all laughed at Berkman for running scared.

Sinatro was funny too. He ducked and ran. It is dangerous over there.
