I have been looking forward to this series for months, as I purchased tickets to the Saturday and Sunday games in this series, back in April. Staying at the Westin, just a short walk from the ballpark, which makes it easy. The unfortunate thing is, it turns out that rather than seeing guys like Zambrano, Harden or Dempster-or hell, even Lilly, who goes tonight, I will see Marquis and Marshall. The Reds will be starting Arroyo tonight (13-10 4.97 ERA)against Lilly. He only gave up 1 run in 7 innings, his last start against the Cubs. Then its Cueto (8-12 4.65 ERA) on Saturday, that faces Marquis. On Sunday it will be Aaron Harang (4-15 5.24 ERA) who faces Marshall, who has a 3-4 record and a 4.03 ERA. Marshall has not started against the Reds this year. Hopefully Harang continues his woes and gets his 16th loss on the season. I would hope that the Cubs can win 2 of 3 in this series on the road. It's the start of a 9 game road trip. Hopefully it gets off on the right foot.

Ted Lilly is getting pounded early, and the Cubs aren't hitting.

Bronson Arroyo has it going as well so this could be a long night in the rain.

Honestly, I am not worried, get this "we suck" streak out of the way and get it back on track in the next game or two.

Honestly, I AM a little worried. The offense has been disappearing too often lately. That day off yesterday sure did a lot of good  .

The cubs are damn lucky the brewers have run into a wall lately themselves or else the cubs would be losing the division and the fucking walls would be crumbling down in cubs nation. This team sucks the sweat off a dead man's sack at the moment, and you want to talk wrong fucking time to forget how to hit?

Looks like Soriano is getting into one of his hot streaks with 3 HRs tonight. From the sounds of the crowd you would think they were at Wrigley!

Wow it is a good thing we built up a big lead. Not often can you give up 8 runs in the last 2 innings and still be 5 runs up

These cocksuckers better get their shit together, or it will be a quick out in the playoffs.
A shitty offense does not fare well in a 5 game series, reference last year.

So Soriano still makes some outstanding plays out in left, even though he's generally regarded as a terrible LF.

Lose 2 of 3 to the shitty Reds, while the Brewers are getting pounded today. Way to take care of business like a real team would. Boys better figure this shit out.

what pisses me off most about that is the memory of how A-GonzFuck flew under the radar when he booted the routine double play because of the Bartman controversy grrrrrrrrr!!!

I am starting to get that "classic cub collapse" feeling. I hope I am wrong and I assume I am, but this is giving me the craps.

I've had my fill of this piece of trash. Hey Lou, guess what? Cedeno is garbage.

And that pinch hitter the Reds brought in? Wood blew one high fastball by him, and fucking Soto became obsessed with it. They threw him two more, which he didn't so much as flinch at, and then walk him on another high fastball. I'm more pissed off after this game than I was in any of the previous 6 losses in 7 games. Another chance to gain ground on Milwaukee flushed down the toilet.

If there's any consolation for you guys, Elmhurst Steve was there wasting his money on this debacle today. I'm glad he got to see such a great game

Never been a fan of his. Keep hoping someone will trade for his ass. He can't hit and seems lazy.
