This will work. Cub aren't going to be good enough to compete deep into playoffs anytime soon. Let this guy do his thing. In a few years if he sucks, cut him loose and bring in a big gun. If he doesn't suck then maybe he can take the team further than I think they can go.

Big thing is going to be the players anyway. Cubs don't have them and don't have the payroll flexibility to get them. It could be year 4 -5 of Ricketts Regime before they have any chance. Cubs don't have a true ace pitcher or two. Until they do we aren't going anywhere.

Can't wait to hear what Sandberg has to say. It's going to be hard for him to rationalize putting all that time on the bus in the minors then watching this clown get the job.

Hendry and Ricketts get fooled by a few wins against teams that were as dead as them, what a joke. Should have waited to talk to Joe. You had plenty of time, Sandberg and Quade aren't up for other jobs. Great job again, Ricketts and Hendry.

Quade DID win as a Cubs manager & has tons of expierience. I think he will do fine. He knows all about the Cubs,too. He is from Mount Prospect,just like Lee Dewyse!

Girardi issue is Money...my guess. Why wait for Girardi if you don't want to pay him for the product that is going to be on the field? The Cub aren't going to be that good for a while. Bring him back for an interview in 5 - 10 years if it makes sense then. The decision now also shows that you believe in him as manager and he is not a second fiddle guy. Media types won't be making that statement now. Quade doesn't seem like the type of guy that would be offended by that type of talk but you never know.
