seems like Sandberg has had 10 interviews with Hendry...and long ones...every week it seems u read that Sandberg is interviewed, in long sessions

fact is, Hendry wants to bully him...to brainwash him...he knows that Sandberg is coming in somewhat "innocent" to Major League managing, so he take sadvantage and tries to bully him around...trying to preach impatience, and to win now at all costs...to play the veterans

this is why the process is taking so long...Sandberg, a man of integrity who has his own vision of things, does not want to be bullied

this is the point of conflict

Quade will be the new manager if Bully cant get through to Sandberg

u will see evidence of what I'm saying in the coming weeks as Sandberg is denied the job and happily takes a job somewhere else...I've felt this way for a month now, and today in the Suntimes I have my first real confirmation, where Sandberg said:

"It has been a learning process"

well of course it has been...you come in with one vision, and u got an owner and GM who want to bully u into a different sensibility

once again, stay tuned, and u will see what I'm talking about within 6 to 8 weeks

Did you ever stop to consider that Sandberg isn't the right guy for the job at this time?

It was about 9am. Maybe 24 degrees out, and I had been sitting in the stand for about 4 hours. I was in a finger of wood about 100 yards wide and 500 yards long, with corn behind me and beans in front of me. I turned my head and saw her.
I didn't hear her approach at all. There were leaves on the ground and she obviously walked thru the corn. Amazingly quiet for a creature of her size. There was no wind, and she didn't look up so she had never seen me. She was on my 3 o'clock and moving parallel to my vantage point, so I would have to shoot left handed. Fortunately, I'm an expert shot either righty or lefty. I unslung my 12 guage, raised it so I was looking down the sights as I brought it up, flipped off the safety as the bead swung right into the "pie plate". It made just the slightest click as the safety disengaged. She was probably about 50 yards downrange. I took a deep breath and exhaled showly as I squeezed the trigger. You never pull a trigger... you squeeze it. The slug had gone straight thru her lungs and a fine pink mist coated the ground behind her as I saw the slug plow into the dirt past her. She looked up, startled by the sound but oddly not by the impact, and went straight down like a sack of bricks. I offered her a prayer of thanks, waited 10 minutes, and started climbing down, combat knife in hand. We were going to eat well that night, my friends.

I read it as Hendry bullying Sandberg in the bathroom.

Someone in the mutual circle of friends has been bullied. There is an incoherent rant about it somewhere here.

Something to do with the urine-stained hands of an Alou offspring?

Alex Gonzalez? WRONG!

If Alou catches that ball,Gonzo doesn't need to hurry to turn a DP because that would have been 2 outs already. The fault falls on Bartman, pure & simple.

Dude, that ball was really out of Alou's reach. I sure as hell hope you really don't believe that.

In a being respectful of the older than shit poster manner allow me to say that is the stupidest thing I have read on this board all day.
Thank you.

Pasta, what if the double played isn't turned and the Cubs only get 1 out?

What if the Cubs didn't choke in the '84 NLCS, or at least won a game in the '07 and/or '08 playoffs?

He was too starry eyed to realize that Matt Murton was a better option.

So what....It has been talked about ad nauseum since. It sucked. We don't have to relieve every little aspect of it anymore. Maybe Cubs fans should stop living in the past and let it go.

Frank,
Maybe the Cubs should just change the team name to the Chicago Whatifs.
As a lifelong Cub fan,I am suffering from severe burn out. At least the Sox DID win something and did it in convincing fashion.
