Joe is getting 10 million over 3 years. Looks like the Cubs dropped the ball here. They paid Lou 4 million a year to do nothing. This will go down as another fuck up by Hendry.

Until we hear from Joe, we don't know if he would have even considered the Cubs job this offseason if the Yankees were interested.

i think his point is more that we overpaid for Lou when we didnt have to... when Girardi is with the free-spending Yankees, winning titles, and getting paid less

I think Girardi would have wanted the Cub job. Managing in New York is hell. If he were here he would have softballs tossed his way by the likes of Levine and Sullivan. "Hey Joe, isn't Starlin Castro a great guy to manage?" "Hey, Joe, Soriano has really improved his fielding this year, hasn't he?" "Hey, Joe, Carlos is the biggest fucking douchebag ever to wear a Cub uniform, isn't he?"

I read it was 3 years / $9 million.

I'm sure Joe is pissed. If the Cubs would have just waited another week to name Quade, Joe's probably getting $5 mil/year from the Yankees.

Bingo. Everyone just assumes that if the Cubs wouldve waited that Girardi would be the manager. Im quite sure that if Girardi had any interest in the job, he wouldve gotten word to Hendry and they wouldve waited. Is it that hard to believe that he'd rather stay with his current team and not want to manage the Cubs suckfest the next 3 years??

I think we need stoneroses to come here and explain to everyone how Girardi isn't really the answer to anything except the question who is a mediocre manager who got lucky to have an extreme amount of talent on his team. Did anybody watch the All Star game? He was overmatched.

The Yankees have agreed to a three-year $9M deal with Girardi according to Mark Feinsand and Bill Madden of the New York Daily News.

Don't feel bad about the money. He was never going to come here. Never.

edit: The deal includes $450-500K in ALCS and World Series bonuses, according to Joel Sherman of the New York Post.

I'm pretty sure there's a joke there.....

Did Cub fans even see the horrendous managing job he did in the ALCS this year?

Cubs fans did.
Like the walk to bring up vlad. and the subsiquent leaving in of a gassed pitcher.
Idiots didn't I guess. But don't lump those bozo's in with the rest of us Fans.
