As each one of these types of state funding issues are different, from the information that has been given to me, I am 100% AGAINST!

I am against the fact they are trying to get MORE than the 12% Amusement Tax.

$16 mill in Taxes per Ricketts $4M to State $12 M to City is where the current taxes go. He of course didn't say how much more of a tax.

Sounds like he is setting the table for PSL's and he doesnt even know it, because he claims he doesn't have a plan B.

PSL is a better option. Private Money and at least I get something for my addtional money

Happy yet Sox fans????

As long as you are as willing to be as hard on Ricketts for it as you have been on Jerry I am.

I don't blame either of them for doing what is in their best interests but that's just me.

no need to be this in-depth

how bout the fact that Ricketts wants to destroy the charm of Wrigley?...taxes or no taxes, free or not, he shouldn't even be thinking down these lines in the first place

Not sure if this is good, but agreeing with Messup.

I am so sick of the alleged charm?

Never blamed Jerry for doing what is in his best interests. All the guy has done is ask for money, of course he has also funded the campaigns of many of those he is asking?

Another difference is Ricketts is matching the funds.

He is going to the state this time because it is cheaper money.

I really don't like the entire "Plan" because it sure seems like the whole thing has been fumbled.

What? You boys know that spending them on baseball operations isn't gonna work. We've seen them spend on players. It never worked.

He's officially matching the public funding amounts in his family's nebulous private "developments" around Wrigleyville, not in the shrine itself, right?

He seems awfully careful to insert just enough language about private investment in non-Wrigley Field developments. Hmmm. There don't seem to be any real private commitments in his plan to rehab Wrigley Field itself...except from the "alleged" increased revenues which never seem to show any incr. in profit.

First an article w/bs claims about no new taxes, now a bs matching claim, nice.

Spending on back-loaded free agent contracts hasn't worked. They need a Tampa Rays like plan, scouting and player development. Problem is, most Cub fans wouldn't tolerate all the losing that goes into acquiring all those high draft picks. Or would they...?

I find no charm in an albatross. Fucking Wrigley Field this, & Wrigley Field that.

it's not just the charm i'm talkin about

I'm talkin about grit

I'm talkin about dealing with what u got the best way u can..not copy-catting other ballparks and cities

fans need to stop being so starry-eyed when they see other ballparks and just be blind to all that...the old saying "this is all we know" should apply

why cant people just mind their own business? this is what we got, it's a great park...heck with amenities, and jumbotrons and bullshit

fans these days have no grit...another example of Chicago morphing from a blue-collar city with integrity, to a flaky, fashionable piece o' garbage
