total an estimate, but if this Trainagle building ever gets built it is about 250,000 SF? at an estimate of $300/SF, thats $75 mill...OK lets make it $100 mill for the area around it, landscaping, etc. so we have only $300 mill left for the park.?

They already redid the Bleachers, so thats not going anywhere for the most part?

$300 mill for basically sky boxes on 2 levels and some new player facilities. If it gets done, thats gonna be some nice stuff.

The Cubs are the 3rd largest tourist attraction in the state of Illinois. Will Quinn & Daley have the balls to tell Ricketts to pound sand?

This is another bad thought. Chicago, and Illinois are not the only corrupt governments that pay for stadiums. It happens in most states, the Cubs should not be exempt. Part of this purchase included public money.

I'm talking about Tom, (see Bucky Chris first name reference) getting state funding like every other major sports franchise. I'm not sold they should be rehabbing Wrigley. But the belief they shouldn't get state funds is misguided and bad. Almost every stadium is at least partially financed by Government. Again, not saying it's right, but why should the Cubs be excluded?

If he can give a detailed expense report, yes. Again, I would like to see the government not have to pay for any sports complex. However, why should the Cubs franchise not get public money, when every other franchise is provided that luxury. They do create a ton of revenue, and I'm sure this was already on the table during the purchase.

My understanding is that the $200MM is not coming straight out of the General fund, so to speak. Ricketts is asking for the state to cover $200MM in bonds over 35 years. Someone here can probably confirm or refute this

Bob, as it concerns the Cubs, I think if locally based corporations can find all that money to donate to Rahm's campaign, they can probably scrounge up the 30 grand or so to renew their Cub tickets.

Where Tax money comes from is irrelevant. As funds get transferred to cover other shortcomings created.

Specifically, sports teams uses this arguement to say who will be paying the tax. Reinsdorf used it saying it was hotel visitors and now Ricketts is using it. Both are wrong.
