Once again, without any explanation, Bully Hendry sneaks out another Cubs prospect using backroom politician techniques

no explanation was given from on why or how Hoffpauir suddenly is in Japan

ur looking for a first-baseman and u do this without at least an explanation?

It's not a dumb Cubs thought thread until Whistlepanther starts it.

Shockingly, his point isn't THAT bad just in terms he might best 1B glove we have. Unfortunately he was out of options, so I'm assuming Jim has an impending deal/move to fill this spot. It's easy to find someone serviceable at first and Hoff's career OPS of .733 isn't going to get it done at a corner infield spot

I see guys here speculate on this or that, but I see nothing in the Sun-times or anywhere else that report these facts of what the situation was

Bobby Scales gets designated for assignment and is ultimately let go and you don't care. Hoff gets the message and takes his ball to Japan and you are going nuts. This thought process is eerily similar to that of a certain steve from elmhurst.
