Let the lineup shuffling begin.

Leave him right where he is.

Too late. Schuster is reporting that he's the leadoff man today.

Barney in the 2 hole, and Colvin 8th.

I know lineup order is probably one of the more over discussed topics, but I dunno how much sense this makes. At least Quade isn't Lou and keeps running the same guys out there.

What exactly is the angst over moving him up one spot? He's already probably the best pure hitter on the team. He's the fastest everyday player we have. Over the course of an entire season, the difference between batting 1st or 2nd is like 50 AB's. How is this going to damage him at all?

Well some might notice by my sig that I'm not a Cub fan, so there isn't any angst per se.

I don't generally have a problem with him leading off, but I wouldn't move him all over the lineup at a young age. If he is going to leadoff, let him do it and don't put him back in the 2 hole tomorrow. Eventually he might be a 3 or 5 hitter

My comment about not making sense was directed more at Barney in the 2 hole and Colvin 8th. The Cub have a strange lineup, nobody is really defined for a lot of the spots, especially 1 and 2.

I don't see Castro developing into a 3-5 hitter. I think ideally he's a two hitter. He's always going to be a high average guy who will give you some pop 10-15 hr's consistently.

Barney hitting 2nd makes no sense however.
