"Jose Abreu will be a far superior player to Anthony Rizzo in time." Steve Stone, March 26, 2014 11:23 AM WSCR

This based on Stone seeing that Abreu ALREADY UNDERSTANDS HE NEEDS TO SHORTEN HIS SWING WITH 2 STRIKES and Rizzo has one swing and it's a homerun.

Sounds like Stone found his new Cub guy to whip, now that K Wood is done.

My nephew is 9 and he shortens up with 2K's, he must have quite a future.

That makes me feel pretty good about Rizzo's future.

Stone is never right.

He used to be right when he was the best in the business with the Cubs. Now he's an idiot.

I think Abreu will be better than Rizzo too. And I'm always right about these kinds of things.

Well he kept it simpler then. Another 1-2 slider should just about take care of Oberkfell…...

I'm looking for a big season from Rizzo. It wouldn't surprise me if he leads the NL in homers.

When we was with the Cubs, he mostly did day games thus watched almost every other game, or what he could and had many more contacts in the league. His analysis was valued.

Then when HE CHOSE TO LEAVE, he spent every moment on the air ripping the Cubs, yet his analysis was actually good, as that's all he did.

Now he sits next to the old idiot, says basically nothing, watches very few other games and all of a sudden he can't even rip the Cubs anymore. Stone joined the "FOJR" Club to retain an easy job, no matter how poor you do it.

For the record, I used to lease a building owned by Jerry Wexler. (If you don't know who he was, go read about him), always got the rent rolls, would see jewelers and other behind in rent by $20K, $50K etc, so I would look for the expiration date of the lease, thinking I would have that space empty and the letter FOJW came up.

I know that's your take, but since he's busy doing Sox games at night, what's stopping him from watching Rizzo strike out in the afternoons?

i would just like to point out that YET AGAIN i am out in front of the pack by giving rizzo the nickname of "superpud" in late 12/early 13. in due time you will all grow to realize that once again sini was right when you too start referring to THE GREAT WHITE/CUBBIE HOPE as "[the] superpuid."

that said, i'm still trying to make a cheeky move to get him and matt adams in that one league where i ended up in an auction draft despite the fact that i picked autopick and thus i ended up with no offensive players who hit more than 17HR last year. c'est la vie.

alex rios nad austin jackson (someone values him enough to be ~#100 overall) should be enough to get superpud and matt adams, right?

Its not really that outlandish of a statement to make, bigfan. People in the media do these sorts of things all the time.

In 2008, it was just a matter of when Tiger would break Jack's Majors record, not if.

bigfan wrote:
When we was with the Cubs, he mostly did day games thus watched almost every other game, or what he could and had many more contacts in the league. His analysis was valued.

Then when HE CHOSE TO LEAVE,
He chose to leave after players on the Cubs were more concerned with what he was saying about them on the air. Alou trying to get them kicked off team charters, Kent Merker calling up to the booth to bitch at them, Dusty complaining about them etc. Not the best work environment I would imagine, so yes he "CHOSE TO LEAVE" after having dealt with all that.

I guess I could see where somebody who constantly bitches about their old employer-- somebody that worked for years ago-- comes off as petty, childish, and annoying. Even if some of the stories are pretty good.

Just in case you haven't figured out what I'm getting at bigfan, you do the same thing here and have for a long, long time; viewtopic.php?f=47&t=84100

Wow, that post should disqualify you from all future CSFMB March Madness tournaments.

Stunningly bad...

Sorry, just angry for my 2nd round ousting in the CSFMB March Madness.

I blame BadRogue for my anger issues.
