Rizzo hit .208 against lefties in 2012 and .189 in 2013

I know Im not breaking any news here, but that really is all there is to it. If he learns to be passable against lefties (.230-.240) he will have the numbers most predicted .275 ba with 25 and 90-100 RBI

If not, I guess he becomes a platoon player

Agree. He looked good against Wandy and Lee, looked amazingly bad against Liriano, which was game 1.

Just as Abreu is going to have an issue, they both need a better hitter behind them.

Only time will tell but the path of Very Similar might beat the Far Superior of either one.

When I first saw Grease, I had absolutely no idea what Rizzo's dark humor joke was about the faulty typewriter and missing her period. I laughed along with my friends but I'm sure they didn't know either. Also, when Danny Zucco got the door slammed on his boner I thought it was that he hurt his hand.

real nice piece of hitting vs. a lefty there to tie up the game.

Rizzo!

We need to platoon Rizzo. He should only start against lefties.

Is Bill Mueller the greatest hitting coach ever?

He went the other way on a LHP's 95 mph fastball.

He's broken down the last barrier between him and greatness.

The sky is the limit. Enjoy the ride.

Rizzo and Castro have looked good after the slow start. Like Castro's new batting stance. I hope Theo and Co. finally got it right with the coaches.

+1.

I like Renteria so far too.

Hopefully Rizzo continues to use the whole field. He became one dimensional last year at the plate so good to see him hitting the ball where it is so far and not just trying to jack everything out.

Got no problem with Ricky. The guy coaches with all his notes right in front of him, like he is in a lecture hall. Most managers I have seen are laying back in the dugout.

Abreu is great but Rizzo is hitting .371 and has a .978 OPS

Not too shabby

We always knew that trade was talent for talent.

Might not be able to declare a winner for years to come.

Best 0-4 night I have seen in a while.

crushed the ball on every at bat. One of them a hard grounder to wong on the deep 2nd/short right play, handcuffs the guy that far out, credit has to be given for hitting the ball that hard, called an error and his RBI fly out to RF was a line drive shot.

Nothing much to show for it in the stats category, but if he hits like this all year, those will find gaps.

Except Abreu is alleged to be 5 years older.

because no free agent from Cuba would ever lie to get a better deal.

I'll never get the people who root for a player you traded to be bad? I guess it's the red headed stepchild thing.
If both sides of the trade work out then great.
Cashner was known to have a great upside but has a history of being injured in a short career.
Rizzo was known as a can't miss prospect who stuggled during a Sept. call up who was a tradeable asset due to the Mat Latos blockbuster.

I guess this is another stereotype to add to the checklist.

As a fan of a team, you should want to win every trade your team participates in. It is a natural, logical feeling. Competition among teams can be more than just the games played on the field.

Yeah he is. Dark Horse Cry Young candidate

But he had arm injuries at the time of the trade. I'll always support trading a hurt pitcher
