It's amusing that you think you are insulting someone here. Yes, Sox fans don't need to look at an Excel spreadsheet to have a baseball conversation.

It seems, most Sock fans around here, have to go to the Cub forum to have a baseball conversation.

CSFMB: Heyward and Zobrist solid moves

xBABIP is a thing too...Interesting stuff about Bryant and that he is likely going to regress. Also lists Russell and Soler as regression candidates...

I didn't read that article you linked but I would guess his flyball rates are the reason for Bryant's expected regression. But that's not something I'd bet on. I could easily see Bryant pounding more balls where they ain't and he's also fast enough to beat out stuff on the infield.

This is perfect JORR right here.

He says BABIP isn't used to analyze hitters.

Three people post links from highly regarded sites showing how in fact BABIP is used to analyze hitters.

In response to one of these posts, JORR immediately states he didn't read the article (who needs to be informed anyway), but then begins to actually analyze the article about BABIP and hitters, something 4 posts ago he said was not a valid exercise.

I picture Joe Orr Road Nimrod as the guy who took three shots to pass the GED and yet is wildly cheering at a Trump rally when Donald says "I love low education voters."

I didn't need to read the article. I know as much or more about the subject as who ever wrote it.

That's your problem. You deem something "highly regarded" and then regurgitate it. You won't find any "highly regarded" site using BABIP for hitters without a million disclaimers.

Do you need me to explain anything else to you?

You keep putting your stock in some dipshit called JORR who is a sox fan but spends 100% of his time in a different team chat forum fighting windmills.

I'll put my stock in fangraphs, and espn, etc.

I'm sure you'll like your returns. As long as you traffic in manure, you'll be fine there fucko.

Schwarber has a little more range than a windmill.

That's a stupid statement, made by someone (actually you and the moronic Jorr) who obviously watched little Cubs baseball. Schwarber was actually pretty good in the outfield prior to the playoffs. Sure he had a couple mishaps in the playoffs and because of the stage, those miscues received a great deal of attention and subsequent discussion. But Schwarber showed surprisingly good range and athleticism in the outfield prior to the post-season and with a full training camp this spring, I believe we will see a quite competent job done in LF by the young slugger.

Schwarber was never good defensively @ any position I've seen him.. Steve, did you see him? He was pretty bad in Left even when he didn't have any errors..he took bad routes, got spun around and has no range no arm.. He brings nothing defensively.

Schwarber will likely never be considered even an average outfielder...or catcher...possibly first baseman(probably not).

He's an absolute beast at the plate and that is the only thing that gives him a shot at playing in MLB.

As long as he doesn't fuck up too often and badly in the field, he can stay in the NL...otherwise, he's destined to be a DH in the AL.

I would be amazed if he could become a serviceable MLB catcher...

I must have had my eyes closed during the 83 (79 regular season and 4 postseason) games I went to at Wrigley.... Sec 220 Row 3 Seat 7.... that's not counting the games I went to in Milwaukee (a short drive from Long Grove) but talking about STUPID ...is there a mirror nearby....

I was just having a laugh with JORR ...

No, but they will be able to hide him in left. Especially if they have a guy like Almora who can cover a lot of ground playing center. I just wouldn't be so certain he's this legendary slugger so many people are so excited about. He might be the second coming of Bob "Hurricane" Hazle.

He could be a one hit wonder flash in the pan...

If he can't adjust to what the pitchers are throwing him, now that they've watched him and learned his tendencies, he'll be a washout...obviously.

The routes he takes will improve as he gets more experience (and coaching from Dave Martinez, who helped Fowler and Coghlan both become better outfielders) in the outfield in spring training as well as in the coming season. he has surprisingly good speed for his size and is very athletic. He should be able to rise to the level of at least being average as an outfielder. Better than Adam Dunn, Carlos Lee and many others who managed to play the position for many years.

You just made that up. I doubt Kyle Schwarber even considers himself "very athletic".

I don't think Schwarber will be better than Carlos Lee. With the bat or the glove.
