Fearing? Nope. Sale made a pretzel out of him on Sunday. The guy could use a bit of a mental break. I think he will be great next year.

 I didnt realize he was at 25 already. My bad.

What did I post that is wrong?

You knocked OPS as a stat so I used the traditional ones that you like.

He has 17 homeruns and 68 RBI thru about 2/3 of the season. He will likely end around the numbers I posted as that is the pace.

Im sorry that even traditional old school stats point out how unreasonable your expectations are.

Im sure you said similar things about Rizzo in 2013. It takes time with young guys. Even hyped prospects.

Had Cesar Izturis still been on the team we'd have a definite answer to this question.

He likes huevos.

Does he fondle the other bobbleheads after a walk off?

Still don't know if Aramis liked or disliked it.
(Fun begins @ the 33 second mark.)

You get a Tony Womack and Neifi Perez bobblehead to go along with Izturis and not only do you have a stew going, but you might have an interested buyer who'd be willing to pay big bucks by the name of Jim Hendry. (Complimentary no-trade clauses included.)

If somehow, someway, you can also acquire a Jose Macias doll, well then my friend, you can write your own ticket.

I won a Scott Feldman autograph with a Cubs picture at a fundraiser a few years back.

Came with a certificate of authenticity.

While impressive, I'd say that's worth about $3.50 on the open market.

But the Feldman signing might end up being THEE move that led to....

In all seriousness, it's gotta be Cashner for Rizzo doesn't it?

Rizzo for Cashner is the corner stone of EVERYTHING. He is the leader, he is the best player, he is everything they wanted him to be and build everything around him. Scouted since the age of 17 by jed and Theo, he is the anti Brian Anderson of prospects.

if you look back on every post I made about Rizzo, this is exactly what I said. They had a ton riding on him. Its wasnt just a player for player trade, it was the player whom they scouted for 6 years and had been tracking and teaching.

If he didnt work out, Jed and Theo would be taking 5 steps backwards.

Its not that it was a risk, but it was critical to any plan.

Eh...as much as I love Rizzo, they probably could have found another good first baseman. I think getting Arietta might turn out the be the big move.

But who knows. I mean it'll be a fun discussion to have if it happens. You could look at the Arietta trade, the Rizzo trade, the drafting of Schwarber etc

Getting Arrieta is huge, but is part of the throw it against the wall and see what stuck plan.

Cashner is a bonafied starting pitcher 1st round pick, who is having a bad year with 4.00 ERA....there was risk involved in trading Cashner, you are giving up something that you felt very good would have value.

Arrieta is for Feldman and Clevenger....Feldman was on a 1 year deal, you risked very little for this deal.

and to be fair, the Plan hasnt worked so well on developing the pitching.

As a Cub fan, I just hope Bryant ends up as good as Brooks Saladino or Rico Gillespie.

You should stop being jealous of the White Sox and worry about him being better than Nick Swisher.

Not probably. We know for a fact they could have.

Arrietta is the move. A cost controlled top of the rotation starting pitcher is the most valuable commodity in baseball, despite all the yapping about power hitters.

Rizzo was the deal.

Arrieta for a couple stumblebums? who cares - low risk move. They hit the jackpot.

I don't see the Swisher comparison. One is a switch hitting, clubhouse cancer that can't play defense.

Bryant is fast and right handed. Can play 3 or 4 positions. The only thing they have in common is taking walks. Bryant is more like Braun .

If you want to go with Arrieta, then you'd really have to go back to the hiring of Bosio and Borzello don't you? And were those two the hirings of Theo (Praise be to him) or the Sveumer?
