Since taking Simple Minded Frank's advice and firing everyone in sight, the White Sox have gone a combined a 76-141 (and counting) over 2023 and parts of the 2024 seasons. Talk about a "prescription" for solving the problem!

The actual rule is employed when there is the following situation. With less than two outs and the bases loaded or first and second, a batter hits a pop fly in the infield area and an umpire feels the base runners can be easily forced out if the fielder intentionally lets the ball drop onto the ground. In that situation, the batter is automatically called out and the rule is that the runners left on base can advance at their own risk until an official dead ball ruling is made by the umpire.
