Much rather have Trevor Story. He's been in a funk all year but the positive attitude around this team and the steady hand of LaRussa can easily right that ship. Then you sell him in the offseason for two or three times what it cost, after he lights it up the last third of the season and puts in a good postseason performance.

Eduardo Escobar? Fuck that. He's barely an improvement over Garcia, he'd be pariah within two weeks.

I think he's a free agent after the year.

Interesting play....two runs off that. Would rather see the rally continue, but I'll take it

That he is. Just means you don't have to give up Sheets or Burger for him though.

The efficiency with which Giolito is working? I'll take two runs.

Escobar traded to Milwaukee.

What is Burger’s future on this team? He’s a 25yr old minor leaguer blocked at every potential position for at least a couple years.

If you can hit a spot opens up. They can move Yoan Moncada back to second.

I’m not in love with Madrigal but he’ll get plenty of opportunities to make that his spot.

Injuries will come, opportunities will open. Really, the concern that talented players wont find ways into the lineup rarely is manifested by reality.

Bubic is furious. I sort of get it but come on man, you just missed the zone four straight times and Andrew Vaughn annihilates lefties.

Alright, turn it over to K-train and Hendriks. Should be good to go.

Would be a nice spot to test kopech’s ability to go 2 days in a row.

Who else you gonna put in? This is Kopech's role on a team trying to win a world series. They need him to cover the eighth.

I’d agree and I want them to test him a bit. A late July series against KC seems a good spot.

I’m glad they went with him.

Wasn't his best, but even not-his-best is still good enough for Kopech.

Hendriks giving up the long ball is gonna be a problem. You can tell everyone tries with him, he gives up a lot of deep flies.

Feels like every hit he gives up is a homerun

Benintendi has nowhere near enough power to have the approach he does at the plate. Its comical to watch, the hyper aggressive drive to get flyouts.

28 hits allowed, 8 of them homeruns (28.5%).

Looked up the other top 7 or 8 in saves right now and it's 3 to 16%

Can only trust Hendriks with more than a 1 run lead.

That "giving up a solo homer" shit is fine for Giolito or a starter, not for your closer though. It's almost like you can't use the guy in a one run game.
