It would be nice to see Lynn finally cover more than 12 outs and/or give up fewer than 4 runs.
Assuming is day is done, he was able to do both and didn't seem phased by the rain delay. A nice afternoon thus far all things told.

GEORGE: You know what you oughta do. You should go to her office and heckle her.

JERRY: Yeah, right.

GEORGE: You know, like all the comedians always say, 'How would you like it if I came to where you work and heckled you?'

JERRY: Yeah, that'd be something.

GEORGE: I'm not kidding, you should do it.

JERRY: But wouldn't that be the ultimate comedian's revenge? I've always had a fantasy about doing that.

GEORGE: Well, go ahead! Do it!

JERRY: Why can't I?

GEORGE: No reason!

JERRY: You know what? I think I'm gonna do that! She came down to where I work, I'll go down to where she works!

GEORGE: This is unprecedented!

With the Twins and Indians winning today, this was a big game. Another HR for FAR SUPERIOR, and Eloy stayed hot.

This is the first time since they were 6-4 that the Sox are 2 games over. 500.

It would be great if he could keep that up for the next few months.

LaRussa's placement of Vaughn in the 2 hole and the return of Eloy seems to be just the spark the offense needs to get going. Return of Robert will be too. Problem is that the back end of the lineup is virtually worthless.
Sox starting pitching is coming along nicely and looks to be rather dependable.

A lot of bench or AAAA guys.

Clearly someone doesnt watch the game or follow the team. Harrison has been much better with the glove and bat lately. Not awesome, but not worthless.

In 100 at bats, Zavala has a .768 OPS. Certainly not worthless. Better than Moncada, Engel, Pollock, and right up there with Anderson.

Eloy seems healthy and has been killing the ball. He may end up having a better year than Robert.

You've made some statements about the viability of the Sox making a WS appearance and now you have skin in the game, so to speak. Welcome.

I have little complaint about today's game other than to say 11 singles and a 3 run HR equaling 4 runs is pretty typical in the large sample size of a team not living up to its potential.

I do not care if you or idiot Frank believe that they have "lived up to expectations" or not. You can quibble about the trivialities of that amongst yourselves if that floats your boat.

The "Fact" of the matter is that they are 2 games out of first currently and have a better than avg chance of making the playoffs. That is all that matters to me
right now.

For anyone to overly concern themselves with whether they "have lived up to expectations" given these "facts" is rather silly and Bernsteinesque actually.

Maybe "we" should revisit what this section's resident idiot insider's "expectations" happened to be for Tim Anderson 4-5 years ago.

Any section of this board that has an overabundance of this idiot and his daily dose of misery is bound to be fucked up. This particular section is no different.

He has said nothing about the Sox and the World Series. In fact, he has said he doesn't care about how far the Sox go in October. He's only reiterated where they are in the standings and how the math says they still might make the playoffs, to which nobody has denied. He's simply posting here has a hateful troll to try and get under my skin. He's a black Caller Bob but as dumb as both of these mongrels are, at the very least Bob is a legitimate Cubs/baseball fan.

Since LTG isn't a true Sox fan like you or I, or Boyd, Peeps (RIP), Ogie, Antioch, or any number of real fans that post in this section, IDAF what he thinks or says about the team.

Hopefully he'll give up and not ruin this section/thread as he has countless others. I'll do my part and ignore him here.

That a boy Ballpark. Way to show your true "colors". Many of the people you just named do not actually post here anymore. Hmmm I wonder why? No one wants to read your misery each and every day. You are a human train wreck and your sole purpose for using this board is to make people as shitty and miserable as you are.
I'm actually a much bigger Sox fan than I am a Bulls fan. And no doubt a bigger fan than your sorry ass. You come right out of the Dan Bernstein academy of whiny, bitching, and complaining "fandom". You spend most of your time tearing down the team to ever be a damn fan. Just like Bernstein.

Has anybody else noticed Stoney has a very strong affection for “Salvy” Perez? He talks about him like a proud father.

Anyway, Sox are probably going to split and pick up a game. All the better to disappoint us in the fall.

Pick up a game how? Clev is taking care of business against a dogshit team. 5 game sweep most likely. Sox have a 19 game series against dogshit and can't even keep their heads above water.

Unearned run in the 6th, give up a go ahead HR in the 7th, watch KC pour it on in the 8th.

Fuck your standings. Anybody who thinks the Sox still have a chance to make noise in october, this game is a quintessential reason as to why this will never happen. They just aren't good enough.

Any team that has the amount of injuries the Sox have had over the last two seasons is going to have some issues. I'm of the belief the Sox do not win more than 84 games last year with Renteria at the helm.

TLR was delt another shitty hand but he's played it really poorly so far this season. Another loss or two and I don't think the Sox will have much choice but to fire him. The team has been lifeless and embarrassing and while that's not all the managers fault, somebody is going to have to take the fall if this continues.

To say I'm thoroughly disgusted and disappointed would be an understatement.

I wrote this on April 26th. It's still pretty much all true today.

They get Cueto off the scrap heap and he’s been absolutely amazing (compared to expectations) and they find ways to piss MANY of those games away.
