Are the players supposed to actively tank? And 3 highly regarded prospects are on the team and all 3 had previous major league experience. They were ready. Natural progression.

Ive stayed out of this ridiculousness so far but I respect you too much not to stop this (as Hillary's handlers should have)

Stop embarrassing yourself. Of course they are tanking. They traded away one of the best pitchers in baseball for a group of prospects. Right there, you have your answer.

But then just to hammer it in, mid season they've traded a bunch of veterans that would have helped them win games for more prospects.

And they are 31.5 games back in a division with the woeful Tigers and Royals.

This is such a ridiculous argument. I understand the urge to try and spin it another way after years of mocking the Cubs for doing it but it's a terrible look. You are better than this.

and then they cut/benched veterans who were much more likely to cause losses so now, not tanking. Sox treatment of the season just so happens to align with my quote conns thought would be a sick burn.

So next year they will be in the postseason?

I don't really disagree with anything else you posted, but to use this is sort of silly since the Indians haven't lost a game since June. The Twins lead the 2nd AL Wild Card by 3 games, yet they are 13 back of the Tribe.

Right. If the Sox weren't tanking, they'd have a number in the teens, not 30s

 I guess I just don't see the difference between 18 back and 30 back given what Cleveland has done over the last month. The Sox were 15 games back when the Tribe's streak started.

Isn't "competitive" the standard your people used in the early years. Yes, I think they will be competitive.

They tanked the first half of the season. I might have been off a bit. The tank was probably more like 60%. It took a little bit longer for them to find a sucker to take Quintana so that they could get winning pitchers like Giolito into the rotation than I expected

like the second half of 1989. (To be honest, there's no real comparison besides the record, but there is a similar, if modest, upswing.)

Define how many wins competitive means to you.

No, I'm the guy that came up with the point system that said the rebuild COULD be a failure if there was only one championship, similar to the failure of the mid 2000's White Sox.

That same point system showed the rebuild could be a success without even a single World Series victory.

You need to know your IMU history. Stalk me better. Are we connected on LinkedIn? I know you got Google search alerts on me, and we are Facebook friends. Let's take our relationship to the next level.

It was my sig for a while. I don't remember the exact quote, but it was something to the affect of "a 2005 White Sox situation would be a failure."

Exactly. Two post season appearances in 16 years? One first round exit and one World Series? As a fan, you need more.

Not what you said. You were talking about the Cubs winning multiple championships. They got one, if they fail to win another, it's a failure...according to you.

I don't know if what Frank is saying is 100% right, but you should have seen this coming with your bizarre beliefs, IMU. It was like Sox fan catnip.

I remember reading it. I'll try to find the post later if I can. He was talking about the Cubs building a dynasty but if they only won one Championship, like the 2005 White Sox did, it would be a failure to him. Of course he'd enjoy the one Championship as it would have ended the drought, but he wanted more. In some ways I admire that one wasn't enough, but now he wont even stand behind what he said. Sad.

I've never changed my thoughts. Ever. I even use the same term for no World Series... "content." Find every post you want. Document every single one of my 19,000 remaining posts. Find a contradiction and post it.

But for you it has been years and:

You just don't change either. You're going to spew erroneous bullshit and no one will ever look too down on you for it because well "it's Frank, he's just an idiot, leave him be."
