He injured himself running the bases last year. The same way we lost Madrigal and Robert. So while taking him out of the field is a start, Eloy seems to find a way. We've multiple serious injuries running the bases and swinging a bat this season.

The team is stronger because of this. Vaughn is an upgrade defensively in LF and we found out that our top 10 prospect has positional versatility. The OF D is going to be deadly in the late innings during the playoffs with a combination of Robert, Engel and Hamilton

He wasn't hitting for much power, but he was still hitting above .300 and getting on base at nearly a .360 clip, while still playing a gold glove CF.

Neither one is going to help in beating the Houston Astros in October. Inevitably, a scrub will be a key in a certain game in every series, but it's always random and it usually means the other team made a mistake.

It's studs that win you playoff games.

I just don't understand why we care that Leury almost hit for the cycle against a 30 win team. I don't care that Hamilton made a nice catch that turned into the catch of the year because he got really muddy.

I care that studs are in the lineup and our 3 and 4 starters get right. I care that certain high leverage relievers get the job done. I give zero fucks about Burger, Hamilton, Goodwin, Leury and Mendrick. The're filler. Every team has them and the teams that have a bunch of them, draft high.

I would hope people only care about those guys because its a long season, and having some unexpected guys step up with all the injuries is cool.

When everyone in back healthy, Goodwin or Sheets or whoever gets pushed to the side.

The thing is though, you need guys like that to step up if you're going to win a championship. For the 2021 White Sox, so far, so good. Every heretofore worthless bum that they've trotted out there has come up big in certain situations. And all winning teams have guys that do that. In 2005 it was Timo Perez, Willie Harris, Pablo Ozuna, etc.
