Kopech will bust out with arm injuries. Giolito is hit or miss... The Sox system ain't as deep as you think.

For some reason, I see Kopech as a Verlander type. I wonder if he would do better in the pen.

Every prospect is hit or miss. You have no idea about the future of injuries, and you only scratched the surface of the organization's prospects. You know it, and it's why you are so defensive about it.

Defensive? Not at all, Epstein has an outstanding track record, Kenny doesn't.

Kenny is not running the draft or farm system. The Cubs are middle at best right now, and will need to trade what they have left if they want to even make the playoffs this year -zero starting pitching depth and no leadoff hitter.

Well, his mentality is wanting to throw the fastest pitch ever. Do you think that equates to a SP?

Love it.

I was joking yesterday when I said someone would bump up the quality of the Cub farm system because Schwarber returned to it.

If he's a Verlander type....well, they tried this with Sale, too. Mistake.

Right now, he's a Verlander type only in HoG (hotness of girlfriend)

Robertson + Kahnle or Swarzak can bring a top 100 prospect. Sox won't get 4 for Q, but should still get 2 top 100 types and a lottery tic. Houston, New York, Cubs, and Red Sox are all gonna start pressing for SP'ing and with Sonny Gray hurt again and Tampa and Texas not being dead, Q might be involved in a bidding war still. Package with Frazier, might get a real nice haul from Yanks or Boston. St. Louis might be a darkhorse to make a move for Avi if they can get back around .500 in next month. Would be disappointed if they don't end up with at least 3 more top 100 prospects by August, with a couple being high-end talent. Really seems to make sense for an inner-city trade with the Cubs grabbing Q and Robertson. May never be a better time to move Schwarber and not have the Cubs fanbase up in arms.

They need to deal Schwarber. His value is diminished by putting him in the field.

WFR: At this level, gradations in quality just aren't really a thing . . . you can turn that shit to eleven, but no higher.

no time to sleep

I'm sure this first trade has whetted the entire league's appetite. There will be a frenzy from now until the 31st. Get Rizzo on the line and get us Soto

Still have Swarzak and Melky to move, maybe Jennings as well.

I am certain Swarzak will be gone. There has been plenty of reported interest in him. I think some team will want Melky on their bench for the playoffs.

Maybe they can polish up Clippard and move him to someone desperate for relief help as well.

I don't know if Swarzak will move. The Sox have control over him for a long time. And Putnam, Petricka, and Jones have been ouchy the last two years and might be done.

I think Melky will be moved, but that could be a waiver deal.

Surprised there isn't more talk around Jennings. Duke brought back Tilson, and Jennings has been as good if not better. Still think someone is gonna offer a legit package for Avi or Abreu.

As a playoff team or a team making a run, I'd want to see Melky coming to the plate for me in big situations

Brewers, White Sox Discussing Anthony Swarzak Trade

If they're somehow able to get Monte Harrison I'll take back every bad thing i've ever said about Rick Hahn. Well not really but I won't add to it in the next 15 minutes.

Polo-Engel-Cordell outfield on Opening Day 2018. That's actually not bad, Jimenez will take a corner spot from whoever sucks the most midseason.

I don't think they're gonna keep him around. If they do he'd probably spend more time at DH. They'll want better OF defense.
