Winning Ugly was probably my favorite Sox season. That Tito Landrum home run still hurts. 90 was a very good year too. Always felt that if not for the Roided up A's that the Sox would have won it all that year. Even though they didn't make the playoffs. 05 of Course and 93 and 94. The top 5 White Sox Years of my lifetime.

Long Time Comiskey Guy. We used to walk to the game back then. I kept a lot of the paraphernalia for a lot of years and then after awhile it just sort of disappeared.

I knew you were my guy.....I heartily support this post. '83-'85 and '89-'94 were my favorite years.

Comiskey smelled like cotton candy.

Yeah the peeling paint and all. I loved the place. When LaRussa put Fisk in the 2nd spot in the batting order in 83 it was so unconventional but it worked to perfection and they just took off after that.

Absolutely. I was only 12 but I remembered that. I got to go to a ton of games that year. (Members where I caddied kept giving us tickets.) That place was rockin'. I think Fisk was second or third in the MVP that year.

Just watched the final episode. Remarkably well done. Makes me want to get out to a game with my kid ASAP.

Good for you. I still tear up remembering the back yard catches with my dad. It's like automatic with me. I think a lot of fathers feel the same. With me, it was waiting for dad to come home after a shift in the steel mill. Nowadays things are a bit different with work schedules, elecronic devices, etc. But to me baseball was and still is a bonding experience between fathers and their kids, girls included. Great memories.

I think Tom Shaer propagated some bad information in the documentary when he said Andy got paid by the Sox. I'm pretty sure Andy was just a loon who did that for his own amusement. I could be wrong though. I remember that prior to kicking him out completely the Sox made him stop wearing the costume and for a season or two he just went around with the nose and the hat. He could be a mean sonuvabitch too.

Good Sox fan Danny Herbert recognizing the genius of Andy's concept. St. Margaret Mary's Represent!

The White Sox have a long history of hard-nosed hustling baseball. The 2nd TLR years were tough with the stupid, lazy baseball. Hopefully PG can reignite the Sox and demand maximum effort, smart baseball.

Really cool watching this and seeing the old park and the vibe around it.

I remember they used to have to shut 35th Street down from the park til Wallace because people were walking in the street.

Kudos to the guys who made this.

Traded for Phil Bradley, an excellent athlete who had a decent career . . . which died in a hurry in 1990, my favorite team. He added nothing--another QB playing for the Sox.
