Zavala, outfielder, lots of Ks. I'm tired of lots of Ks. Pitcher Thorpe good stats. Pitcher Jairo Iriarte good stats. All A players last year.

Doesn't seem like a lot.

Thorpe and Iriarte both finished last year at AA. Iriarte is probably a reliever in the long run.

I'm looking forward to seeing Zavala at Winston-Salem this spring. But he's a long way off.

Sheesh, he's only 18?

140 strikeouts last year....

The good news is that these prospects have noted baseball gurus Grifol and Katz to help develop them.

Sox could have traded Cease for prime Maddux, Glavine, and Smoltz and it would make no difference. This pitching staff will suck as long as Katz is leading the staff. Can anyone name one pitcher he made better? I have no fucking idea how he managed to keep his job but my guess is that he is at the bottom in pitching coach salaries.

Prob should send all of them to KC minor leagues to get them ready to be on the Sox

We can laugh and/or cry all we want regarding the Sox. It is worth hoping for me that the baseball rebuild cycle has seemed to get faster turnarounds. The other thing that is clear is Hahn and Kenny fucked up bad and even with Getz having them gone this time is a plus.

Winning seven games with a 4 1/2 ERA when you’re supposed to be a stud starter will do that.

They had a line of suitors for him this off season and at least three just yesterday.

I have no idea and I doubt you do either.

I like good talent at the MLB level, so I'm not cheering trading a good player only because Jerry won't pay him in two years. That fucking miser is going to be buried with his money. I try to not get to the point of hating anyone but that man is really testing me.

He was 7-9 last year and nearly lead the AL in walks. He did lead the league in walks the previous season.

Outside of a good run in 2023, he's fairly similar to John Danks.

It seemed light. The Padres have a great system, but they did not get the best they have.

That being said, the book is out on Cease- you let him run up his pitch count. He does not make it past five innings.

He was supposed to be the hottest trade ticket in the offseason. If that was in any way true, they shouldn't have parted with him for anything less than a Top 30 prospect. If they couldn't get that, they should have just hung onto him and tried to extend him.

The center piece of the trade was a guy who has been found by two organizations to be expendable over the last six months. Also, Yankees prospects have a tendency to only work out for the Yankees. The odds of this guy being as good as Cease are pretty low.

I feel like teams get in trade mode and feel compelled to trade even when it makes little sense.

Doesn't really matter in a league that doesn't allow starters to pitch past the sixth.

I will be able to get through this season paying little attention to the sox.

Bears through April. Graduations in May. Possible trips in June. After that, we are almost back to Bears.
