Yesss!!!! If we take 3 out of 4 from the Red Sox after 2 out of 3 from the Tigers that's pretty damn good.

We got Danks going tomorrow.

Big win today, especially after last nite's slop fest. Hopefully win tommorow, and at least 2 of 3 from KC. This team needs to get on a hot streak, pick up a couple games on the Twins, and force them to play catch up when they head on that monstrosity of a road trip later this month.

Twins start a 3 game series with the Yankees at the dome.

Then, after that, they play something like 22 out of 26 on the road. Like all teams they aren't good on the road.

From August 21st - Sep 21st, they have 6 home games.

Yankees have murdered the Twins last 2 or 3 seasons. They are something like 27-10 against Minne over the last couple years.

Minnesota loses 5-4 to KC. 12 innings.

Back in first.

August 10th: Good day for the Sox. I've been going to a Sox game on my birthday every year since '93 (excluding away games) and they haven't disappointed me in years. Thanks for another win. Since '93, they're 7-3 in home games (games I went to) and 4-1 in away games. No game in '95, the '94 away game at Oakland was the last game of the season, my nephew was born when I was at the '04 game and they haven't lost at all on my birthday since '02. Next year my nephew will join me for the first time at the game, hopefully lots more birthdays and a lot more Sox wins.

It'll be a tough assignment dealing with Josh Beckett in the wraparound game tonight at "The Cell" vs. the Wentworth Miller(from "Prison Break")-looking John Danks. It could be a long night on the Southside if the White Sox don't get to Beckett early...

Beckett is the only pitcher to ever have done what at US Cellular Field?

Wear a home uniform that wasn't a Sox uniform while pitching at the Cell. The Marlins had a make up game here cuz of a huricane a couple of years ago. Marlins were the home team. I forget who they played.

Am I right? What do I win?

Two tickets to any Blitz game of your choice... Seriously, I forgot that the Marlins & Expos actually played a three game series at "The Cell" I think 5 years ago due to a Hurricane that left the Miami area in really bad shape, and the Marlins didn't have a place to host their games. I think they played in front of as many fans as they've had at Dolphin Stadium...Very few...

You are correct Beardown, if I remember Florida literally played 26 games in the last 22 days of the season.

And guys, I believe there was a Cubs/Marlins' series rained out by the hurricane at Dolphin Stadium. I could've sworn that Florida was the "home team" for a series at Wrigley vs. the Northsiders that same year...

Nope. The Cell hosted the All Star game in which the AL had Home Uni's, but you were on the right track Beardown.

When the Expos and Marlins played at The Cell in 2004, he was the only pitcher to have ever gotten a hit at New Comiskey/US Cell. He singled in his 2nd at bat.

Oh. Ok. I figured it had something to do with that make up game.

He might be the one and only guy to ever do that. Sometimes, in an AL game, a pitcher is forced to hit in a late extra inning game when the bench is done and there is an injury. But that's pretty rare. It's rare that a pitcher would even bat in an AL game. Let alone, get a hit.

I like baseball quarks like that.

Ok Ozzie. We need ya here buddy. Danks has a PERFECT GAME through 5 innings. GET GRIFFEY THE FUCK OUT OF CENTER FIELD. Right now Ozzie.

Griffey leads off in the bottom of the 5th. Give him that at bat and put Anderson in. With Becket pitching he won't bat for 2 innings; probably 3. Doesn't matter cuz he can't hit anyway.

This isn't a 2nd guess Ozzie. Griffey is gonna fuck up the PERFECT GAME.

It would be nice if the Sox put some more runs on the board. Danks is pitching great but I doubt he'll hold this team down all night.

Even if he gives up a hit get him out anyway. Danks can shut them out today with some defense. We have a 1-0 lead.

That's a shitty way to lose the perfect game. Danks hit him. I think he had 2 strikes on him.

Oh well, still can get the "no no".

If he doesn't hit one tonight, he will in the next year or two. Ask bearison, I said it early last season that this guy will be an ace and have a couple no no's to his name by the time he retires.

Fuck. Well, Anderson wouldn't have caught that. Cheap hit. What are ya gonna do?

You should still take Griffey out. We can win this 1-0.

Losing it clearly messed up Danks. Walked him.

Get the damn double play ball here.

I like Danks as much as the next guy but those are pretty big claims. I dont know, how many pitchers have multiple no-no's though? There are many all time great pitchers without one.

Yeah. It's tough to predict "no hitters" Any team can get a bloop hit when a pitcher has great stuff. Clemens never through one. Maddux doesn't have one. Gooden never had one. A bunch of shitty pitchers have thrown "no hitters" too.

Can we please come back and get a win for Danks here? Christ. He's had plenty of tough loses. Now he's gonna lose a game like this? That would suck for him.

I want the Sox to win for the division race first and foremost. But you feel bad for Danks too.

The offense owes Danks some runs. They need to help him out right here.
