Whew! Nice win boys. That's two more wins than I thought Bartolo would get this year. He looked really good and he had to throw 90% fastballs.

Was that game played in less than 2 hours?

The last game the Sox played in under 2 hours was a daygame at the Cell, that the Sox won 2-1 and Konerko drove in all 4 runs.

2-1 back in 2005, 2-1 today. 2+2=4.

That game in 2005 was also against the M's

I remember going to a game when it was Mulder vs Buehrle. Both guys were absolutely dealing and the game finished in around 1:50. Those are two of my favorites to watch pitch. Mulder was such a stud. I really hope he's able to make a comeback.

I was at that game. Buerhle pitched - the M's only got 4 hits as a team, and Ichiro got 3 of them. I believe that it lasted all of 1 hour, 18 minutes. Spent far more time in the parking lot that day than the stadium.

Riddle me this...Why was Jerry Owens leading off in Game 1 and Brian Anderson in Game 2? Your regular leadoff hitter, Chris Getz, is feeling much better, but Ozzie is very cautious and hopeful #17 returns at the Ballpark in Arlington, TX Friday night or else Jayson Nix gets recalled from Triple "A" Charlotte...I know his BA pales in comparison, but Brent Lillibridge has done OK in the leadoff spot at second base, yet was penciled in 9th in both games. Why?

Post subject:  Re: Sox-Mariners

Lillibridge is back in the leadoff spot. It sounds like Getz is healthy enough to play and would be in the leadoff spot if there wasn't a tough lefty (in a contract year) on the mound for Seattle today. He should be in there on Friday against Texas.

Post subject:  Re: Sox-Mariners

Erik Bedard, I do believe, is starting today's getaway game for the Mariners vs. Gavin Floyd for the White Sox. I am very encouraged about Chris Getz's likely return Friday night to leadoff the road trip at the Ballpark in Arlington, TX. He was playing terrific ball, both offensively & defensively, before he got scratched at the last minute vs. Toronto last Saturday. Besides, Getz has gotten a little bit comfortable at the top of the lineup. As for Lillibridge, don't let his low batting average fool you. He's been very productive with walks and getting on base, both premiums for this Sox team.

With the off day he getz an extra day to heal, not really a big deal. They'd better hit some HRs if they plan to win. Would not be good to drop a 3rd straight series.

The longball isn't enough, Frank...I hope Getz is ready to go when they head to Texas. If not, to paraphrase announcer Rich Fields on "The Price is Right", "Jayson Nix, come on down!"

Jayson Nix has to be brought up after his rehab assignment is complete, or they must waive him as he is all out of options. I think he is an interesting asset as he has the best glove of the three 2B options and he has been tearing the cover off the ball since he came to this team.

The minute he is healthy I would like to give Jerry Owens another chance to clear waivers and let Lillibridge back up in CF.

Jerry Owens should be history, period, Good Dolphin. I'd rather have Gary Owens instead... Even in very limited action, Jerry still can't hit Major League pitching. That #7 uniform of his should be made available once Owens is sent packin'. Might it eventually end up going to Gordon Beckham once he joins the Southsiders? Just wondering on that one... As for Nix, he had been hitting the cover off the ball dating back to Spring Training, for what it's worth. Had he not hurt his quad, Nix, not Chris Getz, may have been the Opening Day second baseman or a very capable reserve.

Frank, I wonder if Alexei's in a sophomore slump after a breakthrough first season...Remember, #10 wasn't playing all that much in April a year ago, and didn't take over the second base job until the White Sox were in Anaheim and Juan Uribe got hurt. That's when he started hitting...
