I still think he is going to be the 2nd catcher called up. How does Zavala not go to AAA at this point?

Kevan Smith is the everyday guy there now though i wish they called him up to the big club and send Narvaez down. He’s an awful catcher.

He is a bad catcher but as a backup, he is a left handed hitter, has displayed a pretty high OBP and generally just gives you a good at bat every time up. I know catcher is a defensive position and I'd agree on Smith if he was a lock down defensive type, but he is flawed as well.

kevin smith is also a terrible catcher....I think. whatever. I can't figure their fascination with Narvaez. mebbe cuz he speaks the espanol.

The Sox have terrible defense up the middle with Anderson and Engel, the latter of whom can't hit. You love those guys, yet you are worried about the backup catcher?

Unbelievably Elmhurstian stupid thoughts.

Eloy 3-5 with his 5th bomb. Collins 1-2 with 3 BB’s. Sebby 0-5.

Eloy 2-3 2B, HR (6)

Double A is not challenging him. Time to promote him to Triple A.

He needs to be in Chicago.

No. He needs to dominate in the minors this year and be ready to come to the majors next season.

Triple A is a wasteland. Only thing that can be developed there is a bad attitude.

Almost free. They only had to give up a losing pitcher to get him

Zach Collins is finally worth paying attention too. .247/.459/.451 after starting 2-for-21. If the Sox go with a catcher at #4 in the draft Collins bat looks like it may be able to play at 1B.

Another homer for Jimenez. That's 7 in his last 65 ab's.

Rodon fastball up to at least 94 today. Next appearance should be start of his rehab assignment.

I really dislike him. Maybe it is his agent, maybe it is that he has never pitched 200 innings. I just don't feel the sox can count on him.

He is ready for a promotion to at least AAA right now. I would do that, see where he was in a week, and maybe bring him up.

I meant Rodon

Zach Collins has a .450 OBP, and Zavala is also tearing it up. One of them needs to be an everyday catcher at AAA soon.

Dane Dunning continues to pitch well everywhere he goes.

gd meant Rodon might be ready by June 1. I agree, the Sox cannot count on him but if he can eat some innings this year and next year, maybe he is your 4th or 5th starter in 2020.

Eloy should be up in a couple of weeks. 9 multi hit games in a row. Minors, majors, independent league, or Mexican league...that is impressive.

If he is hitting innings "landmarks" he is much better than a 4-5th starter. Rodon has shown TOR talent at the MLB level

He is not going to really do anything until he gets that 2nd contract, imo.

Going into the 2017 season, he had the 17th best overall WAR of starting pitchers in the AL since he came up in mid-2015. That is pretty impressive, he just has to stay on the field.
