Moncada is the guy who most frustrates me in the MLB.

He could be top tier elite but he's so fucking lazy he's pissed his career away.

Guys like him need a hard ass manager that has to push them every day. Ozzie would have made Moncada into an all star.

If it's between a Dominican and a Cuban always take the Dominican. They are harder workers.

The pessimist in me, not related to the White Sox, always has the thought that certain teams can't develop players worth shit. Like, if the Bears drafted Mahomes instead of Mitch then Mahomes would have sucked. That part screams that Moncado would be the star and you'd screaming about Devers. Probably PTSD when to comes to Chicago prospects across sports.

Quero has .370 SLG% at AA. Watch out Johnny Bench!

He slugged .332 in the Dodgers system, so he's doing better with the Sox. Also hitting .326 with a .747 OPS despite the low slugging in Birmingham.

I love it when you analyze

They should have traded Eloy. I guess Hahn keeps him around to show Jerry how he fleeced the cubs.

His OBP% is 50 points higher than his SLG%. It's like you took Benetendi and wrapped him up into a catcher! Go Crazy!

Except that you are the only one going crazy, you fucking imbecile.

You have a legit playoff contender on the Northside and you just cannot help posting about the White Sox prospects. All of us smart fans know that prospects are suspects until proven otherwise.

I can't believe you're some sort of writer. You aren't even qualified to write captions for preschool coloring books.

Are either of these guys realistic candidates to be in the rotation next season for the White Sox?

Next season?

Fuck that. Give them a couple of September starts this year. No better way to learn than playing against the highest level of competition.

I hope they get some time this year, but, I thought the guy from Miami may be close to the majors already. Not sure though if either are considered to be realistic candidates for next year's rotation.

Assuming Cease and Kopech are starters (and Cease should probably be traded if they aren't going to pay him), they could need 3 starters. Maybe they keep Clevinger around, but that would seemingly upset some in the media, although not sure what fans think. Toussaint and Scholtens are doing ok right now, but I don't think either could realistically be considered anything more than battling for one spot next year. They really need to bring in at least one difference making starter and that doesn't seem like the White Sox.

I disagree. I think the scouts totally over-valued Moncada. H is an example to me of what the misuse of roids resulted in with athletes. His body just broke down early. This happened a lot in the minor leagues particularly with Latin guys. I saw some examples of failed minor league players trying to use drugs to get back into baseball and saw the fucked up results of what "training" in baseball was really a lot about. I don't think Moncada was ever a "legit" prospect and the White Sox really fucked that decision up.

What kind of contract do you think that Cease has earned ? 5/100 ?? I mean there’s always a stupid general manager willing to shell out ridiculous money to someone who doesn’t deserve it but does he really deserve / has earned more than the number I posted?

I thought most teams placed everybody on waivers so they’re clear to trade. It’s how the Sox ended up with Alex Rios.

Unless something’s changed, there’s no obligation to trade the guy to a team that claims him.

Because he was injured for half of June and most of July, and only had one start before the trading deadline.

Tough thread for you here, but then again most of them are.

The more you know.....

I didn't realize that was how waiver rules work. Figured a team making multiple claims would have some sort of ranking system. Claim someone, and they would "fall to the bottom" for the next guy. Wouldn't happen, but in theory, the A's could have claimed every player.

Clevinger cleared waivers, much to the bootlicker's chagrin.
