The Cubs are 48 -48 over their last 96 games. Over that time IMU has started more threads in the Sox section than any other. His team is scuffling, so he turns to making fun of the White Sox.

Really sad to see a once average baseball poster fall to these pathetic levels. I feel sorry for ya, IMU.

What a BOMB by Abreu! I also like what I am seeing from Mendick thus far. He has made very good contact in pretty much all of his ABs. Looks like there may just be some competition for 2nd base and/or the utility infielder job next season.

He's going to end up pricing himself out of the white sox market. A month ago there were plenty of Sox fans who thought he would be lucky to get a two year deal in the $25 million range.

If he goes back down to .799 or below for the second season in a row, after I've been told each and every time that it was an aberration, I look great.

If he ends the season somewhere between .800 and .850 and White Sox fans are celebrating that, they look bad.

Fact of the matter is that I've said Abreu is an .800 OPS player, and in the second half, he is at .770. So he is still trending downward when a larger sample size is considered, despite his last 11 games.
His last thirty days; .340/ .649/ 1.063

.842 OPS is the second half of the season
1.002 OPS for August, 1.179 in September

Overall, .840 OPS for Abreu on the 2019 season.

That is some cat bird seat.

Doubtful but fine by me. In 2021 he'll be 34.

So what he's 34 years old in two years? The guy is in great shape and will still be in his prime. Look at Pujols with the Angels. YEah he got an asinine contract from the Angels but he's got something like 25 or so Home-runs and 85 or so RBIs as a guy at the end of a terrific career.

Great hitters which Abreu clearly is can hit late in the prime. In addition he is a terrific role model for the younger guys, particularly the Hispanic guys. They had better make him a damn good offer and keep him for the next 3-4 years.

Still .840 for Abreu.

It's amazing how the post count in this thread from IMU dropped off quite dramatically once Abreu's OPS started to climb well north of .800

Also super convenient that I've been out of town a few times in that stretch.

I'll still be talking about Abreu into next season though, you won't be following him since you only follow Chicago baseball.

I accept your concession for the 2019 season.

I hope 2020 has you being wrong just as often if not moreso than you were this season.

Abreu is who Abreu is. I've always wanted him viewed accurately. Nothing more, nothing less. Good, not great, player. Just a fine hitter when considering his position and other limitations. Best years behind him. Likely candidate for albatross contract. And yet you could still have much worse so if you're the Yankees, you overpay since the rest of your roster is WS capable.

But pragmatically, why am I suppose to care about a 32 yr old 1st baseman on a 90 loss team?

It's more of a fenderbender that some are looking at as a trainwreck.

Wrong on all counts. IMU is just a Cub fan. Nothing more, nothing less. He is obviously just lying about Abreu. He doesn't really mean the shit that he is saying. He just wants to piss off Sox fans as does the bobalooie freak. They are just trolls on a message board and should not be considered as knowledgeable about baseball let alone the White Sox.

Is that what you think the job is? Dude you are literally not smart enough to do this kind of work. Sure there's a couple dumbasses in the business that can make us all look bad, like any business, but if you think that this type of work doesn't require some pretty intense brain power... well... that would just plain say it all.
Good effort though.
