Once again, you have a significantly higher opinion of your own intellect than you deserve.

And yet I'm paid for my intellect and you're paid to crawl around in stuffy attics for 10 hours a day.

I know what I don't know. You don't know what you don't know.

My opinion is that it does not matter how I value myself. I value myself based on how people of worth value me. And simply put, this message board membership is not flooded with the best and brightest of Chicagoland. So I tend to consider the opinions of others more.

Obviously not.

Nah. you never knew anything about baseball in the first place. The fact that you are limited to just trolling on a Sox board just expands on how limited your baseball IQ is.

"Intellect"? Any money you gather based on what you call your "intellect" is downright theft. :? :? :?

So, are you of the self righteous belief that craftsmen and trade people are inferior to those who work office jobs? I find that the epitome of arrogance and foolhardy at best.

Besides, idiot, this is a White Sox baseball board not some fucking discussion about quantum physics. And it is my experience that a person who works with both his brain and his brawn probably knows a shitload more about baseball than some pencil necked geek like you.

Fact of the matter is that I've said Abreu is an .800 OPS player, and in the second half, he is at .770. So he is still trending downward when a larger sample size is considered, despite his last 11 games.
32 bombs, .848 OPS on the season. The "remarkably consistent" Jose Abreu has now raised his OPS nearly 90 points since late July, with an .862 OPS since the AS break. So much for that trending downward!

I know what I don't know.

You might kill yourself when the downward spiral hits, based on your outrageous level of elation due to above average production.

Keep in mind that Abreu's production, in all aspects, is inferior to Baez's 2018 season when you continuously criticized him.

This is pure entertainment. It's great watching your tie yourself in knots trying to grab at the smallest crumb available to try and make your argument valid.....like saying that the runner up for MVP in 2018 had better numbers than Abreu this year. Even a professional contortionist would be impressed at the way you have twisted yourself around during this baseball season.

I always imagined the goal posts went side to side, not up and down.

If you are going to move the goalposts like this, you need to show your work here. Clearly I cannot remember all of my Cubs posts, but I'm certain I did not start any threads bashing Baez. I fairly certain you have attempted to detract Jose Abreu MANY more times than I did 2018 Javy Baez.

Maybe you can also explain what 2018 Baez has to do with 2019 Abreu.

Abreu has an 850 OPS. Please, stay away from us commoners. Stay with your classy Cubs fans and learn something. Try again next season. You can't be any worse!

Jose just hit a ball that is mingling with the LF stands.

Look like Big Baby is a lock for 30 Home runs in a 3/4 season. That would be something. The Sox just may have the batting champion and the RBI leader both at the end of the season. Moncada is really raking the ball also and is leading the team in slugging percentage. I gotta say that over-all, this has been a really fun season to watch with these awesome young hitters on the team.

1.064 OPS over his last 30 games. If that is trending downward, give me an entire lineup full of guys who are trending downward

Surprised IMU hasn't flown in here to claim a minor victory now that Abreu's OPS has dropped to a paltry .837

I was too busy last night enjoying the numerous amenities found in Wrigley Field's Club 1914, the premiere sporting event suite experience.

.829

he'll end up with his second worst BA and OBP with below career averages almost across the board. I really hope the Sox are smart on what they offer him. Maybe it was a brilliant move on JR part to commit to him in advance causing his market to tank with suitors knowing he is staying.
