Yeah, that's how I feel. If the players play, he'll be fine. Too much is made of the manager anyway. I'm pretty sure LaRussa can still run a ballgame.

I don't know if that will be the case or not. He is pretty fucking old. I've never been a LaRussa fan. But to act as if he's forgotten how baseball is played or that he's some alien who doesn't know how to talk to black people is ridiculous. A lot of people think kneeling for the anthem is bullshit. You know what? Many of them are black.

I consider LaRussa easily the best manager of my lifetime and I dont think the game has changed so much in the 10 years since he won his last World Series that it will matter.

I just ignore the woke stuff at this point.

Francona. Not a doubt in my mind.

I'm older, and agree to a large extent about Tito, but I'm still putting Howser at the top of my list. And that was fun baseball to watch.

Francona had the horses--but he made the most of them. As much as I hate the Indians' fans, I was pulling for them to push through and win one there. He and his staff (Callaway, the guy who got fired for sending sinful photos to women) did a great job with pitchers. They got everything out of them and started younger guys on what look to be solid careers.

And if Tony falls asleep or insults a TV sponsor or something, Miguel Cairo has been around the game forever and will do just fine as his bench coach and effectively "manager in waiting."

I'm not so sure anymore. Cairo seemed to be hired for a purpose. Jirschelle is only 30.

Still been around awhile. I think he was a hitting instructor at 25.
