I don't see how they can trade Cease unless they get back multiple guys who are ready to pitch next year. I read some speculation today that, since the Reds are looking for controllable starting pitching, they would trade Jonathan India for Cease. India seems like a good player and plays a position of need, but the Sox can't start next year with Kopech and a bunch of grab bag starters.

India is a guy who seems like he is good until you actually dive into his numbers. It would require quite a bit more for Cease

Management won't change.
You're not going to see any major trades before the end of the deadline. That would require Hahn to admit he fucked up. I think his ego prevents it, and I think Jerry knows this but is willing to stoke that ego to maintain what I believe is his desire to field a mediocre, not inexpensive (cause that shows) but moderate payroll team that wins just enough to sell just enough tickets and ads to be marginally profitable.

Zach Zaidman?

We'd want nothing in return, especially Zach Zaidman.

Sox Math says different. There's a cute little video to go with it.

I tuned in for about three minutes on their second Cub game before I COULDN'T TAKE IT ANYMORE. Who was that dork doing the "color" side of the booth? He was AWFUL.

Dodgers trade for Amed Rosario of the Guardians to play SS as a rental. The White Sox should have traded Anderson there as soon as Gavin Lux was injured for the season. But no, they had to pretend they were going to contend with a lineup which has six DH, Seby Zavala, and Luis Robert.

What did the Guardians get? A bucket of balls?

It has to do with balancing money.

I would love to know why there is trade interest in Lynn. Teams have to be offering “player to be named later” type return

Seems that way. They will move Joe Kelly or something for a lottery ticket. Sox fans HATE this team.

No. They'll trade Giolito for sure. No reason to hold on to him. You'll get one decent prospect and probably a long shot prospect for him. But better than nothing. And no way they're paying him anyway.

For Lynn you won't get much. Once again, so what. Dump his salary for the rest of the year. Jerry likes that.

I’d be lying if i said i knew anything about the prospects, but apparently they are the Angels #2 and 3. The catcher is top 100. Now, the Sox being able to do anything with them…..

Jesus they gave them Reynaldo too and only got a couple AA guys?
Yeesh. Welp that's the batsignal, it's a full on rebuild. I was dead wrong about standing pat. I thought seeing Lynn start today meant they were gonna hold. Or maybe it means nobody wants the leagues worst starter.
