I'm not sure you understood the point.

When you are one of the greatest hitters, ever, you can be a black hole on defense and still be great. When you are a middle of the road hitter, adjusted for your position, you can't be a black hole on defense. Do you understand?

Middle of the road hitter at his position? Here are his ranks in OPS at his position:

2014: 1st
2015: 6th
2016: 9th

There are 30 teams in MLB.

Reading is fundamental FF. Go back to the earlier page when I said since 2014

You're still wrong.

And stop calling people idiots. You misspell about a dozen words a day and make the worst arguments of any poster here.

Nope, still average.
From 2015-2016, amoung 18 qualifying 1st baseman in MLB, he rank's 10th
http://www.fangraphs.com/leaders.aspx?p ... &players=0

You want to ignore defense, ok, during that time frame he ranks 9 out of 18 in wCR+
http://www.fangraphs.com/leaders.aspx?p ... &sort=17,d

9th out of 18, wOBA
http://www.fangraphs.com/leaders.aspx?p ... &sort=16,d

9 out of 18 OBP

8 out of 18 SLG
http://www.fangraphs.com/leaders.aspx?p ... &sort=15,d

Once again, there are 30 MLB teams. But yes, I agree he's a top 10 1B and was last year.

You think that there were no Cubs fans who blindly thought Mark Grace was better because of the uniform he wore?

How many? 50 out of 10 million? I'm sure there are also Sox fans who thought Steve Sax was better than Ryne Sandberg.

He was no where close to top 10 in 2016, even if you want to ignore defense.
He was in 2015.

My numbers are a balance of 2015 and 2016.

I really shouldn't have to explain qualified plate appearances by this point.

Explain position then. Unless of course there are 12 MLB teams that someone didn't bat their 1B enough.

Qualified PA appearances balance out the statistical noise when analyzing large data sets, especially multiple seasons. By using qualified PA appearances for his entire career, yes, Abrue is still a top 10 1B from 2014-2016. That's not what I said. I said he was middle of the road, 2014-2015 which sorry, is statistical fact.

If he can rebound and put up a season in 2017 like 2014 the White Sox are set at 1st base. If his career is going to trek more towards 15-16, then the Sox will need to upgrade first base.

Oh, shut the fuck up and go on ranting about Kris Bryant being exposed based on 1 game. On their worst day, Sox fan's baseball thoughts are still better than yours, on your best day.

If you were ranking the teams from 1 through 30 based on their best 1B would the Sox be top ten?

It's hilarious that you think you have some insightful analysis. All you're doing is reading lists of metrics. It takes no thought to "discuss" baseball the way you do. You just pick your favorite stat and use it as a be all end all to a conversation.

Ironic, coming from the clown that used one stat, OPS, for your entire argument this thread. I even met you half way and ignored defense and still backed up my claim.

You didn't back up your claim. There are 30 MLB teams, not 18. You posted stats showing he's been a top 10 1B since his rookie season. I agree.

I'm almost positive 312 is a Cubs fan and routinely makes fun of the Sox.

I'd be willing to trade half of Nas's fandom for IMU's.

Zero chance. Elmhurst Steve's contract makes him untraceable unless you're also giving up Dr Ken, Peoria Matt, and Hockey Gay.

No way I'm giving up 312. Even if you hate his baseball thoughts he is still a good Cubs fan.

We will give Steve up for Frank. All other deals are OFF.
