Are you guys off your freaking rockers?

The sports world has gone so crazy as of recently that people who want to see their team play it's best players are considered off their freaking rockers. What a time to be alive.

Yep.

These truly are end times.

We are well past the time for that discussion. That was the argument that I agreed with before they sold off all the talent.

Get busy living or get busy dying. The Sox chose to get busy dying. The only thing to cheer for right now is for them to die well, which entails losing every possible game they can the rest of the season and maximizing the chance of winning in the future.

I don't need to open my Christmas present on Thanksgiving.

So Mac said that Levine reports Eloy is coming up? Or is that the Getz "he's close" bullshit?

Bringing up outfielder LaMarre defies anything Levine says. If what he says is true, Hahn really is the dumbest GM in baseball. And that can't be good.

Hopefully next year at this time we are having the same discussion about Cease and Madrigal

How is playing in the minors gonna help him at this point? Let him start figuring out the bigs and generate some fan interest to boot. They did this with Big Frank and they wasted four months.

tommy gets it.

It's like playing Madden on Rookie mode.

Sure you can throw for 8 TDs but so what.

We are all in agreement that the benefit is to the team and not to the player but I think you are both overstating the impact of six weeks of baseball on his development. A September of playing in the division where no one has a chance and the Indians are keeping people healthy for the playoffs isn't exactly challenging either.

September stats are a mirage.

It's still a competitive atmosphere. Guys know it's a chance to give themselves an inside track for a spot in next year's camp.

I guess Kopech has a pic on his instagram with himself and his girl at the bean, that was posted about 30ish minutes ago.

You don't think Jimenez has an inkling he has an inside track on the LF spot next year?

I have no problem with people saying, "fuck Eloy. We want the extra year". But don't wrap it up in rationalizations about the lack of competition this time of year. It's the big leagues. The competition is stellar compared to where he's at.

I'm certainly not doing that but the quality of competition at that time of year is being overstated as a response to the "fuck Eloy" argument.
