I still have a lot of faith in Colome. He’s a good closer. I’m glad we have him.

Les Grandal would be fine with me. Not sure what he was looking at.

HE looked in the dugout to see if Renteria was going to challenge the play at 2nd ruled safe. You could see Grandal look at the dugout. The runner wasn't going anywhere until they threw the ball from second after the mess up there. It was a split second kind of thing. Suddenly you've got a ball coming at you and getting away. If Colome had covered the plate no run would have scored but instead Colume also went after the ball. It was heads up for that runner on third to read what happened and to score that run.

Credit to Colome after this Key Stone Cops show, though in getting the side out with two good hitters coming up.

Great point. YOu get taught to get a catcher out of a pickle situation like that as soon as you can. The same applies to pitchers and some first basemen. Jose should have throw that ball to whoever was covering 2nd base and that man run the runner down. He would have his face toward home instead of having his back to the plate like Jose did. Jose should not have done what he did.

Did our pitchers attend Giolito's no hitter when he threw 19 first pitch strikes out of the 28 guys he faced?

Bullshit.

He’s a solid piece. I’m glad he’s on our team. McCann is a better baseball player.

Better? No. Just as good? Yep, but in different ways.

Funny shit. Touch em all, Grandal.

Still paid too much and playing more than he should but it worked out tonight.

Its not our money that they paid him and he was one of the top three catchers in all of baseball when they traded for him. McCann has gotten better this year and elevated his status as at least as good as Grandal. What a great problem for the Sox to have.

Colome didn't have anything to do with that?

We should’ve fucking had that third Cubs game but sometimes the ball doesn’t bounce your way.

We have the best team in baseball. It’s been 15 years since I could say that. Feels good man

I'll believe that when I see it. Twins are a scary bunch and the Dodgers have some really hellacious arms on their staff.

Don’t know much about this AAAA league Dodger bunch but we’re better than the Twins. This ain’t the team we sent against them a month ago. We still have some major holes but go get Bauer and give up Lopez and we’re the AL favorites

I understand it's a 4A league but trust me, those arms throw nasty ass shit. The whole staff combined is a 1.0 WHIP

That’s fair. Might take us 6 games to beat them instead of 4, I hear you. Not trying to be unrealistic

He's a very good over-all catcher and the best pitch framer in baseball.

Dodgers don't have a bull pen and that has been their downfall the last three years. The NL is also awful other than the Dodgers so they really don't play anyone tough in that league. Hell, Texas just beat them bad today.

After the keystone cops moment, when Stone announced the lineup for the upcoming inning, when I saw that Grandal was leading off, I totally had a feeling that he would be pressing to fix his mistake with a walkoff. . and then that's exactly what happened - AMAZING!

Fun, fun stuff.

Can't wait for each game.

Yep. I heard that. I think that the guy is just a classy guy and a huge asset for any team. Being a switch hitter that can hit from both sides and with power is huge. And a guy who can hit anywhere from 2nd to 7th in a line-up depending on who is pitching for the other team is good also.

I look at the team this way. Mazara is not hitting like he should hit. Encarnacion isn't hitting either like he should. Grandal has had a rough start and Moncada is tweaky and not at his best either. Those are four proven major league hitters and good ones. They should figure things out.

So, what the hell is going to happen when these fellows find their strokes and join Robert, Jimenez, Abreu, and Anderson in the line-up? And what happens if the two kids Vaughn and Madrigal make it up along with maybe Mercedes(I can hope can't I)? IF they get this boat load of bombers all in sync, who in the hell is going to beat them?

Yeah, anything can happen in the play offs where pitching gets better and short series can produce upsets. But Giolitto, Kuechel, and Cease are legit and the pen is solid. Play-off jitters? maybe but I doubt that most of these kids know what pressure really is. Getting off of their respective islands was real pressure I'd guess.

I know they've got some good arms. They don't have many success in those pitchers though in play-off success. Kershaw has been a mess in the play-offs and is not the pitcher he once was although still good. But the others are not top guys on any ones play off starters list. Their pen is good but again, I think ours is better.

Again, you have to look at the weakness of the NL and how the Dodgers have been beating up on pretty weak teams. The other thing is their manager makes shit decisions in juggling his staff in the play-offs and can't set a rotation worth a shit.
