Its one thing to not get the right deal for Quintana and Sale. Though I'm certain the Sox got a good offer for Sale and just refused to budge because they cant stop congratulating the genius of his extension, there's at least a decent argument in waiting until the offseason to ship him out. But we all know that wont happen because...

The only other player the Sox traded was Zach f'in Duke. Robertson and Melky are inexplicably still on the roster despite the fact the Sox could've gotten out from underneath their contracts and probably also gotten some decent prospects in exchange. They didn't move James Shields because they weren't certain he would decline his option and become a FA and wanted to keep him in the event he stuck around. Gonzalez was kept for similar reasons. The truth is they want Melky, Robertson, Gonzalez, Shields for 2017 because despite repeated failures Kenny and JR are certain they have a winning roster. The Sox are going to go for it again in 2017, then 2018, then 2020 all the way until Sale, Quintana and Eaton are long gone and the Sox are left with nothing to show for their time in a Sox uniform except losing season after losing season.

I'm done with it. I'm not going to watch them try to salvage this ship again this offseason with more desperate trades trying to plug a mounting number of leaks. They'll make the equivalent of a Samardzija or Frazier trade again this offseason and some promising young talent will leave (Semien would be 2nd on this Sox team in WAR, Trayce Thompson would be 5th). And for the 3rd year running the complete lack of organizational pitching depth will manifest itself in a horrendous bullpen that torpedoes any shot at success, and players like Tyler Danish and Carson Fulmer (it'll be Alec Hansen, Zack Burdi, Spencer Adams this time next year) will be called up an actual calendar year early only to be permanently ruined by the sting of big league failure. But those are the only options the Sox will have because HALF the top 30 has been traded in the last 2 offseasons and no amount of drafting can replace that kind of loss.

The White Sox are done. By the time Jerry dies and the new owner fires Hahn/KW it'll be too late to turn the franchise around and keep them in Chicago. It's over.

More like a plateau.
