from this organization? absolutely not. but if these morons are in charge for life, might as well make the trade now when sale is at peak value.

I see them getting Wilson Betemit, Jeff Marquez, and Jhonny Nunez in return. Or maybe they can get a haul like Jon Gilmore, Tyler Flowers, Brent Lillibridge, and Santos Rodriguez.

you know damn well a good organization has a detailed scouting report on evey single player in organized ball. The sox will have to call a guy who knows a guy who saw the player play a couple of years ago.

Remember when Kenny traded for the wrong guy?

Jason Castro signed with the Twins for 3yrs/$24.5M.

That's a bad sign for this off season when they aren't willing to match or beat that offer for a guy they have long been associated with trying to acquire.

That king of money for .210 and 13 homers is not my idea of wise investment. MLB really needs better offensive catchers.

You have a thing for old bad catchers.

I know, right? I can appreciate the art of pitch-framing and overall defensive prowess from catchers as a fan of the game, but from a purely entertainment-value standpoint, I would much rather see the likes of Gary Sanchez sprinkled throughout the league than Jose Lobaton or Tyler Flowers.

It looks like Stephen Vogt will be made available. I guess he's an offensive catcher because he sure as hell isn't a defensive catcher. He's 32 yrs old and under team control until 2020. I'd say no but Hahn can and probably will do worse.

Welington Castillo non-tendered. Probably interest the Sox.

Was that the Antonio Osuna trade?

It was the James Baldwin to the Dodgers deal. The Sox traded for a guy named Barry when they actually wanted a guy named Berry. That's why I'm so concerned about the existence of two Rougned Odors.

They've made a flurry of moves. All of them are bad.

Competition wide open for a RF, CF, 2b, 3b (if Fraz goes), C to get 600 PA's and an MLB check for a year. Sox will be an attractive destination for guys desperate to prove themselves. I doubt anyone, even Soto, signed in the last day will make the 25 man.

As far as Asche goes, if he's in the lineup every day, it ain't gonna be pretty, but what else can they do?

I expect the Sox to sign Soto two more times before he retires....

Frazier agreed to $12M deal.

Good. Now teams have cost certainty. Fucking trade him.

so they still need a CF, RF, DH, C. Maybe they should start working on that.

No. They should let players sign elsewhere and wait. Then, they can pick up bargains just as spring training is starting. Guys desperate just to get a gig for 2017 and willing to sign for less than market value. They are not going to contend anytime soon and attendance is likely to plummet, so they need to keep payroll down as low as possible. Lose a lot, get a great draft pick and try to develop the young players they have and will have acquired in trades and drafts.

Trading Bourjos to Rays for cash. Sign and flip is full effect. Not sure they are doing it right, though.

I thought the guy they picked up from STL last year was hurt again? Who is going to play CF until he returns?

This is first evidence that sox are actively trying to lose. I like it!

and it is evidence that the Rays will be actively trying to win, which would remove Archer from the available pitcher market
