I thought I'd be a lot more jealous/upset about them winning the World Series. Instead, I'm pretty much indifferent outside of being happy for my Cubbie friends. This is probably how Yankees fans feel when the Mets win one.

Thanks Rick. I hope it happens, and I hope CFMB doesn't become a shitshow for months if/when it does.

Just like the Illini, getting away for years from the hordes of stupid Cubs fans has done me well.

Oregon and Carbondale aren't exactly Chicago.

Though with your vagrant lifestyle, maybe you are somewhere around here again.

You should try La Gondola down there in Southern Illinois. They have unlimited spaghetti and garlic bread some nights. You just have to close your eyes and pretend the sauce isn't ketchup.

Murphysboro 17th Street can hold its own with any Chicago BBQ.

Nor is whatever backwater west-of-the-tollroad frontier outpost you've lived in your entire life.

dolphin laying down some truth in this thread.

Sweep the defending World Series Champions, Win the ALCS with 4 consecutive complete games, sweep the World Series.

The only way it gets better than that is an 11-0 or 12-0 postseason.

Literally no one cares nor remembers as witness by media reports this year.

All that matters is the WS is won.

going to be embarrassing when leash responds with 103 regular season wins against what is universally acknowledged as the weakest competition in some years

In fairness, the ESPN guy supposedly mentioned while showing that graphic they intentionally omitted the White Sox since the Cubs fans were likely crying in the fetal position afterwards instead of celebrating.

It was a poor graphic though.

Its a good thing for you that all that matters is who won, because then the media will not talk about a historically weak NL, The Giants having to win a WC card and only use Bumgarner once, and the Indians not having half of their starting rotation, their #1 catcher, or the best position player IF the Cubs win this series.

Come on Cubs fans. Drop the jealousy of 2005. You are watching your team win a title right now.
