I hope this is just the Cubbie nervous energy coming out. After the parade, when you understand what it is like to call your team World Series champions, you will likely understand much more just how impressively dominant the 2005 White Sox were. It's like when you get to the top of a mountain and you can finally appreciate the climb that others did before you and how impressive some of those climbs were.

The key word in the title of this thread is STUPID. So if one wanted to participate in this STUPID thread and somehow try and make a STUPID comment about a STUPID argument...A STUPID Cubs fan might counter a STUPID Sox fan with the FACT that...IF....IF....IF the Cubs were to go on and win this World Series they would have won a total of 114 wins whereas the 2005 White Sox would have won only 110 games. 114 > 110. But that would be kind of STUPID!!!!

Go Cubs!!! Stop the STUPIDity.

My guess about why a lot of baseball fans don't really consider the 05 team as historically great despite their playoff run because they didn't really have any historically great players ( the carcass of Black Francis excepted). Paulie was a really good player for a long time , Jermaine Dye the same. Just not a lot of household names for people to glomb onto , especially nationally . My 2c.

2005 made me indifferent if the Cubs win it this year. I'm surprised at how little I actually care. That is the premise.

I wouldn't be taking shots at the Sox if most of the Sox fans on here would just chill and show some class. We have a whole thread dedicated to re-watching the 2005 World Series and guys like Ihaveboilsrick trying to rip on the Cubs nonstop.
