Jeff Passan compared Moncada hitting to Trout and Kopech to Syndergaard.

WE GOT TROUT AND SYNDERGAARD!

Ridiculous. I hope RFDC is paying attention and notes it isn't Cub prospects I'm dubious about.

If he's comparable to Trout, you'd see him playing center field, flying all over the place making stupid catches.

Sox hype machine out in full force. Number one fanboy Danny Bernstine just compared him to Cano.

MLB.com calls Moncada "the most-hyped teenaged prospect to come out of Cuba since Jorge Soler."

So, they got that going for them...

The guest they have on now says we got 3 of Red Sox top 8 guys. Also, this Macada will hit 285 and 35 homers.

Meantime, Kopech has a plus fastball in a package that has mixed some bad (he broke his pitching hand in a fight with a teammate during spring training, sidelining himself for three months) and good (he touched 105 mph with his fastball three starts after he returned).

Whoa

If you look at him he is a big kid from Texas. Yay! We got Nolan Ryan!

I don't know what the fuck is so funny about that. If you're suggesting that Jose Quintana is somehow the equal of Chris Sale, you're barking up the wrong tree. Giolito has a good chance of being better than Quintana. He certainly has the tools to be. Chris Sale is the best pitcher in over 100 years of White Sox history. Please don't compare him to some ordinary guy with a career .500 record.

While I think you undervalue Quintana a bit, I agree with this. Giolito & Robles would be a really good trade for both teams.

Quintana is pretty good. Sale could be a Hall of Fame guy.

Because even though Quintana is a damn good starter, you're not getting a team's two top prospects for him. Especially not Giolito and Robles.

Of course you'd do it. I'd trade Albert Almora and Javier Baez for Mike Trout.

Post subject:  Re: Trading Sale

I know that the BA rankings aren't gospel and guys move around a bit, but Carson Fulmer was 20 spots higher than Kopech (73 vs 93) on BA's last rankings. Saw how well ol Carson did so Noah Syndergaard is an unlikely scenario.

Comparing Moncada to Trout is just what happens with Boston prospects, that kind of talk will die out pretty quickly over the next month or so while Moncada fades into obscurity.

Post subject:  Re: Trading Sale

Quintana for Giolito and Robles is fair. Robles ETA is like 2019 best case and Giolito's injury concerns and shitty debut have his value tanking.

The sad part is Sheehan had to tell Bernstein to dial it back a notch. You could really see Dan' true love of the Sox bleed through today.

In the interest of fairness gaze upon this slobjob and at least entertain the possibility that this wont go down as one of the worst trades in the history of baseball.

Stopped reading when he started gushing about Moncada looking like a SEC RB. Who the fuck cares about that?

They say that his fastball does not have a lot of movement, but who knows. Could be Kyle Farnsworth. Moncada is supposed to be a can't miss guy, but time will tell. Rebuilding was the right thing to do. Now Sox fans have to hope Hahn and his scouts got the right guys in return and continue the process, rather than trying to patchwork this thing again.

Assuming Kopech is the real deal and at least a solid #3 starter, looks like a good deal. Moncada def. seems like a damn good young player.

Now continue selling!

Hahn and Williams should have never been given the privilege of making this move. Their work necessitated the trade. It would have been a great first opportunity for a new gm
