I will not pretend to know enough about the prospects the Sox got in return in this deal,( I know 2 of them are highly regarded) but to rebuild was the right thing to do. This should just be the first of many moves to get young talented players, who may contend a few years down the road. For all those Sox fans who railed against Theo when he was trading away his better players and restocking the minors.... welcome to step one in the process. The most important element in the process is being able to identify and develop the right players they get in deals. Theo did a great job of that. Time will tell if Hahn and his scouts are able to get the right players in their deals. they traded their best overall player, so I have to assume it signals that several more will follow. it was and is the right thing to do, whether they do it well or not remains to be seen.
