A happy accident, more likely.

Let me know the next team that goes 11-1 in the postseason.

That's my point: it came out of nowhere.

That doesn't make any sense within the context of my post you quoted.

Were you implying that the team wasn't a happy accident because they went 11-1 in the postseason? If so, my reply makes perfect sense.

The hit on most their FA the winter before, signing Dye, AJ, Jenks, El Duque, Iguchi.

Not at all. 100% luck.

Also the start of record breaking low viewership for the MLB.

The 2005 White Sox almost killed baseball.

They were pretty much the best team in the league all year and finished it off with one of the best postseason runs in the modern era. There's nothing accidental about that and you had no point.

It takes a very high level of baseball intelligence to steal a Scotty Pods for Carlos Lee.

I miss these conversations.

So we all saw that coming? Not a chance at all that it was kind of a freak thing?

The won 83 games, 99 games, and then 90 games. That is a pretty good 3 year run with a World Series title thrown in.

There are many other championship teams that are far more of a fluke than the White Sox.

I don't have a problem with the White Flag trade, but the idea they couldn't catch the unstoppable 86 win Cleveland team is a bit overblown.

Couldn't and weren't going to are 2 completely different schools of thought. I was on the side of "not going to" considering their rotation of Navarro/Baldwin/Drabek/Alvarez/Darwin had only 1 pitcher with a sub 4.00 ERA
