Unless the Sox are going to get a top 10-15 rated player, I do not think they should be trading him.

After signing Robert it makes zero sense to keep Quintana. They just spent $50m on an asset they won't see any benefit from until 2019 (if ever...).

Until you see him vs pitching in the states, I am not sure you can make that assumption.

Quintana needs another 4 starts like his last before we can assume he's even rebuilt 2/3rds of the trade value he had in the offseason.

Uh no. The fan is far more fickle than people that get paid millions to run teams. That's why those guys are doing it and the fan is not. Imagine if a GM based everything on a guy's last 15 innings or last 20 at-bats. He'd be fired in a month.

And there are teams like the Giants that can't just "white flag".
