I don't think it will be very long before Tim Anderson is mentioned among the most complete players in baseball. He can handle any pitch in the strike zone and the ball rockets off his bat. His defense is improving and he is already an elite baserunner. Better pitch recognition will come with more AB's and when that happens he'll be a force.

Do you think he'll be better than Zoilo Versalles? How about Yoan Moncada or Eloy Jiminez?

Love it. I like him better than Russell.

Complete player? Not sure I'd agree, swings at everything. Bright future for sure, talented dude.

Do we know how good he is at speeches during rain delays?

This is something we are going to have to learn. Bossard's field drains so quickly that he better be able to string together a lot of inspiration in few words.

He's a position player drafted by the Sox. He will be injured and/or bad.

He'll be lucky to have the career Juan Uribe had.

There's no doubt about that. I certainly wouldn't bet on him doing it.

He needs to learn to take a walk, and control the strike zone. I'm also not convinced he can stay at SS

Let Anderson have a stab at SS before rushing to judgement. :D

I don't think he needs to radically alter his approach at the plate. If he can strike out just a little less and draw a few more walks his offense should be better than the average shortstop.

I agree about his defensive position, although he has looked better over there than I think anyone expected.

I have no doubts about that. He's going to be an outstanding defensive SS.

I'm looking forward to seeing him play.

Stubhub has lower corner seats in Sections 110 and 154 for as low as $10 for summer Monday night games, vs. $20+ticketmaster online. Beats going to a bar, and I can get my walking in instead of going to XSport.

Juan Uribe has had a 16 year MLB career and started on multiple world series champions.

He also shot a guy. The guy didn't die.

He does such damage on pitches in or or near the strike zone that as long as he cuts down on his K's he'll be fine. I think he'll be a .300/.330/.490, 40 SB SS without improving his K rate significantly.

About a week ago KLaw wrote an article about guys who have made noticeable adjustments at spring training and Anderson was one of the guys he mentioned. I would have been interested in reading what he was doing differently.

I'd be disappointed if Anderson wasn't a better ball player than that juiced up turd Uribe.

If Anderson makes on of the best catches in World Series history, I'll be happy.

That's pretty foolish, he's 23, what if its a great catch for the Yankees or Cubs in 2027.

It comes down to .

A. Do you think Tim Anderson can best a .259 avg and a .300 obp

B. Do you think Anderson is a better glove.

I say TA will most definitely accomplish both.

A. Probably

B. In a complete fantasy world.

The offensive bar for him is looking dangerously close to Starlin Castro with a better glove.

Well, his speed is going to set him apart from Castro offensively and I wouldn't be so sure he has a better glove. But if he hits like Castro I'd be fine with that.
