I hope this post is sarcasm, if they wait about one more week then they gain an extra year of arb control.

He needs to stay down all year to learn how to play a passable 2B and that might not do it.

I think he's a CF in the long run.

Dan Bernstein will tell you: Strikeout DO NOT MATTER. An out is an out.

So when you have a runner on 3rd with less than 2 outs, a fly ball to the outfield, or ground ball even, that scores a run, is no more valuable than the strikeout? That is just stupid. Advancing runners, scoring runners ......pretty important in low scoring games particularly.

They shouldn't bring him up until late April or May of next year.

I have him pegged for LF which is fine as long as he hits.

I can not say I have seen him play. From what I hear, he might be a Jose Canseco size when he is all done growed up. Doubt that size works at 2B.

I don't understand the Sox thinking on this. If he can be an above average CF defensively, that is a more important defensive position, so why not move him there. If he can't be an above average CF, why would you even consider the move to such a critical OF position.

Maybe it is not about defense?

I mean if all 4 corners are supposed to be power positions, and you can get a little out of CF but not a lot out of 2B, maybe it makes sense? How many power hitting 2B vs CFers? Kenny is all about hitting HRs, not defense.

I think you are in trouble when you don't prioritize defense in C, SS and CF.

Yes, but we are talking about Kenny Williams.

If they put Moncada in CF while they are courting Luis Robert it probably lessens their chances of him signing with them.

There are plenty of open outfield slots. Moncada can be put in left. Let's not say we can't sign a guy because they are teaching Moncada to play outfield.

LF would be a worst case scenario for Moncada. Rather he be tried at 2B, 3B, or CF first.

Worst case is that he's a bust. Don't care where he plays as long as he hits and is not a liability on defense.

By comparison Bryant hit : .321/.364/.679/1.042 with 9 strikeouts in the seven games he played in the minors before the Cubs called him up in 2015.

Yeah. If he's hitting like this it's going to piss him and his agent off.

Well they're not bad enough to get a top 5 pick so what's the harm in seeing what he's all about in the second half. The sooner he goes through his MLB growing pains the better, and if he's transcendent it would be nice to know before the deadline when (presumably) a couple of deals may get made.
