Depending on the situation I might agree. However, that is not Abreu's WAR.

2015 3.8 WAR (3.7 oWAR, -0.9 dWAR) .850 OPS
2016 2.8 WAR (3.3 oWAR -1.5 dWAR) .820 OPS
These are certainly not MVP numbers, but they are way better than "mediocre"

That is 6.6 total WAR, and 7.0 oWAR. Since you don't have to take off your shoes to count to these numbers, I expected you to get this. I was wrong. I'm sorry you're a dumbass.

Yes, those were his numbers.

Go get your fucking shine box, loser.

I'm going to wait for JLN to show up and tell us which WAR we should believe.

The Subdivision defending Abrue is like the Cubs defending Fukodome in 2010. All other fan bases are laughing at you. Don't cry because it's over, smile because it(2014) happened.

Did you post that during the year he hit 35 home runs or was it in the interim between that year and the one where he hit 30?

Anyway, I don't think you mentioned that he wasn't a power hitter, just that his many home runs didn't go as far over the fence as others.

I posted it during his very first season. And yes, I said he wasn't going to be a 35+ HR guy each season.

That's all he's capable of. At a certain point it's not worth responding to. We all have the internet. If I want Bob's take on someone, I can easily pull up Fangraphs.

Caller Bob takes the crown for worst baseball poster.

He had the third highest WAR among AL 1B in 2016 and 2015, and yet he is mediocre? GTFO.

Don't talk shit about him using numbers. Talk shit about him having no idea how to use them.

I have no problem with someone using stats to support an argument. I do have a problem with people using stats as their argument. Bob does the latter.

No you didn't because you wouldn't have known he was a 35 HR guy during his first season. However, he was a 30 HR guy the next season, which still lead his team and was near the top of his league.

Yeah, it's not hard to trace his career arc. First year was amazing. Next couple were decent. Now he sucks. Time to move on.

Yes I did. Because Sox fans threw an "I told you so" that season when he reached that milestone.

Here is just one post in July 2014 questioning Abreu's power... please note 2014 was Abreu's rookie year.

If we could search posts in 2014 I'd have an easier time finding many more.

You said it is very possible (note: not very likely) that he will be a .235-.265 hitter with 25 HR power. His floor has been 25 HR power. If you want to try to take a victory lap for that, you are tailing me as I made the post from which you were working.

So, you said his home runs didn't travel far enough which was a predictor that he would not hit for power in the future. Then he hit 90 HR and 102 doubles in three years...and you are calling this an accurate prediction?

But addressing the semantic point I was making, you didn't say he wasn't going to be a 35+HR guy in 2014 because you didn't know he was ever GOING to be a 35 HR guy at the time of the posting. You had an ambiguous position about him not being having power.

36 to 30 to 25 to whatever this season.

Yes, I am. My original stance was that he didn't have the power White Sox fans initially believed. 25 to 30 HR is still good power. I think Jose Abreu is a good player. I'm not Caller Bob.

Initially believed in April of 2014. I wrote in your second quoted thread that reports had him at 25 HR per year. He has met or exceeded that number in every year, which means he has exceeded this Sox fan's expectations circa April 2014. I hold quite a bit of sway so my opinion IS Sox fans opinions.

It's OK to be wrong. You had a hidden gem about Baez being bad defensively in there as well.

Javy Baez is on that Jimmy Butler track! It's all about hard work.

Is everything okay with his family? This was a problem last year and once they got everything taken care of he played like an MVP.

Wouldn't surprise me if he still hit 30. From what I've seen of him, very streaky hitter.
