Cubs are what they put on the brochure.

You can see the same thing at the Target on Madison and State. Or any other Walmart or Target store in the city or the suburbs.

It's not just the paraphernalia. Even the Score last fall forgot the White Sox played in the World Series 12 years ago. To pretend this team isn't ignored when it's own flagship station ignored them isn't realistic.

Heck, even the owner of the team is mailing it in and just hiring trash the Cubs took out to the dumpster. It's embarrassing.

There are more Sox fans in the city. That is verifiable fact.

You can see plenty of Sox stuff at Target. The Cubs may get a special section because they won the World Series just like the Sox did in 2005.

Fan survery's, Facebook maps, vanity license plate sales...when you want to actually look at metrics that only take into account people from Chicago the Cubs have a clear minority of fans.

You laugh, but you cannot refute any of it.

I laugh because you hate the Cubs so much that you are basing this speculation on facebook likes and vanity plates.

It is ridiculous. No one believes it.

But keep saying it. Maybe eventually you will actually really deep down believe it.

Vanity plates....

You'd have to actually prove it beyond just saying stuff before anyone could attempt to refute it.

whats wrong with vanity plates? it proves a level of fandom, cultural/personal connection to the team and (very importantly!) Illinois residency. We all know the Cubs own Iowa, that's not up for debate.

What's wrong with vanity plates?

Are you serious....First of all you have posted no proof with actual numbers showing anything.

Even if you did, vanity plates show nothing. Lets say you have a city block that has 20 families represented. 2 of them have vanity plates for the Sox. 1 has a vanity plate for the Cubs. That says nothing about the fandom of the other 17 homes on the block. You cannot say that the block has more Sox fans based on those numbers. It is all absurd

More recent example. White Sox lead has only grown.

 that even makes it more absurd.

But that standard the Blackhawks have more fans than any other Chicago team.

I love the hawks, but no way in the fucking world is that true.

I do enjoy how much this reality bothers the hell out of Cubs fans. I do suspect the Cubs may be able to narrow the lead a little against the White Sox after the World Series. The Sox might only be ahead by 4000 plates now!

 Yes, can't you tell how upset we are?

I'm more taken aback at how awful your "prove a negative" argument is than you bragging about winning the "license plate championship."

He is not bragging about winning anything. He is saying that within Chicago city limits, the Sox are more popular than the Cubs. Nobody has ever posted anything to prove him wrong.

and literally every poll ever done of Cook County residents.

*I say Cook County becaue to my knowledge that is as small a jurisdiction that has been surveyed. The city itself never really has. But I can guess that if the Sox are more popular in Cook Co. that is probably because they are more popular in the city. Especially when we all know that some parts of the county (panhandle, north shore) are overwhelmingly pro-Cubs.

Well, where are they? I'm willing to concede it when you give some data to support it.

Come on Frank. There is no way in the world you are believing this vanity plate crap. By his "proof" the Blackhawks are the most popular team. I know what you think about that....
