Now I can forget these guys exist for another 2-3 years, at which time maybe one of them will be worth my attention.

Yeah I was looking over the draft results and Skoug was ranked as the 48th best prospect in the draft....yet the Sox got him in the 7th round? How does that happen? Is he hurt or something?

Probably had a deal in place with the White Sox and made it clear he wouldn't be signing elsewhere. I think that situation applies to most players drafted after the 3rd round or so.

Like a Sale deal? Get me to the majors ASAP and I will sign?

They took Will Kincannon in the 11th. Saw him up to 96 when he was at Triton. Stuff went backwards at Indiana St. Reliever all the way.

Sox should just declare Louisville as their minor league affiliate

I can't blame any player for wanting to jump at the chance to join the up and coming dynasty.

Skoug just struck out for the 3rd time tonight and 90th this season. That's 90 K's in 246 AB's.

Berger signed for $3.7M. About 500k under slot. Still think they should have gone with White.

The whole "power hitter" screams a certain person working for the Sox.

That one certainly does.

Skoug is on deck—he’s already got 2 Ks, giving him 96 on the year. He needs just 3 more to tie Tommy Mendonca’s NCAA record. #chasinghistory

If he got a degree, I guess it makes sense.

4 years of school is included as part of the contract. College will always be there. Being offered a shit ton of money to play baseball will not.

Factor the degree value around 200-300K, he still lost around a million, before taxes...or about two weeks salary for Denis.

Again. College is included in the deal. $1.5M + 4 years of school.

The only thing I can think of..if it's a really good school and because of the scholarship the school is willing to bend the admission rules to get you in, vs 10 years later and you are just some dude with a lot of cash.
