Scouting Summary
Rutherford’s fall on draft day was not due to talent but due to the gravitational pull of signability issues created by pool-rich teams picking in the 30s and 40s. Though old for his high-school class, Rutherford has always hit against his elite peers and often with power. He’s not a center fielder for me, but rather an advanced prep bat with enough offensive prowess to profile in left field and hit in the middle of the order.
That is from the link you posted.

Fucking imbecile.

Four home runs in 400+ professional Plate Appearances. Look like the scouts got that wrong.

I think this trade was more about a salary dump for the White Sox

I don't know where that came from, but Rutherford is not a 35 hit player right now.

I'm sure they're basing it on if he were in the major leagues right now and if so a 35 (I hate half grades) is generous.

A question for those of you here who are White Sox fans: If someone did a Kenny and claimed Robertson off of revocable waivers, would you let him and his contract go for zero?

If yes, then I don't see how this isn't a net plus trade for the White Sox.

Most of the objective people seem to like Rutherford. Sad that there are so many jealous Cub fans here

Could be, although essentially any player 1 year removed from high school would have that struck upon them, so it's a bit misleading to publish.

Present and future hit grades can get tricky. Some organizations won't allow more than a 30 on a present hit tool. If you did that with us you're pretty much killing the guy.

Kahnle is done. Optioned to AAA.

Meanwhile Rutherford is holding his own at Winston-Salem and rebuilding a lot of his stock. This trade is look very good right now even if Clarkin is taking a dump.
