Am I crazy for wanting to spend $7 to go watch him and the rest of the rebuilding misfits play this Friday night? It's cheaper than going to Kane County. which wants $13.75 for a ticket. |

juschill wrote: Chris Sale ... fastest American League pitcher to reach 200 strikeouts in history. Moncada ... .185 batting average and took his rightfielder out for 4-6 weeks failing to be called off a pop up. Also Harold Reynolds likes him. I have a feeling this is going to be a Pittsburgh Pirates type of rebuild. Bad analysis. Moncada looks great at 2nd defensively |

Must be doing ok defensively |

Batting average is shit. Although he's raised it 100 points in the last week or so. But is OBP is around .360. The guy is very selective. Has a good eye. Doesn't swing at a lot of balls. Which is good for a young player. He's been down 0-2 or 1-2 a lot and has managed to draw a walk or get a hit every now and then. That's a great sign. |

If he can learn how to hit that'd be great, but he can probably carve a pretty good career out of being a .350 obp player with great defense and speed (that the White Sox are incapable of utilizing). |

FavreFan wrote: Nas wrote: Looks like I was right about the Sale trade. Me too. Potential to be one of the worst ever Hasn't even been a full season. Wait a couple of years to see if Moncada and/or Kopech become all-stars. The Sox were not going to win anything with Sale; the method of trying to build around Sale/Quintana failed. I'm happy to see them restocking the farm system and actually providing some hope for the future instead of overpaying for average free agents and failed draft picks of Kenny Williams. I remember the Sox doing the same thing in the late 80s- bringing in McDowell, Fernandez, Ventura, and Thomas, which built a foundation that led to a team in contention for the playoffs from 1991-1994. |

Boom! He has raised his batting avg and OB% nearly 100 points each in August. Boom! Schwarber does that, and you rubes declare him as the second coming. |

He is 22 and has played better as of late. I am not putting him in Cooperstown, but I am happy with seeing his improvement. |
