One of the things that I've appreciated about the Sox is that they don't fuck around when it comes to their prospects. If it's a guy that they deem to be in the plans then they will call them up too soon as opposed to late. The problem was that either they'd overrate guys or they really weren't of the blue chip variety. The last time I can remember them having the sort of depth in the minors that they have now was the late 80's early 90's group.

The late 80's and the early 90's were great.

If not for me posting for every Cubs playoff game I would have more posts in the Sox section. #LyingFF

Believe 2000/2001 they were rated top 5.

If we're just randomly declaring ourselves fans of teams I guess I'm a Dodgers fan for the rest of the year. Hopefully this will be the year!

Don't be a hater because you chose 1 when you could have had both.

Yeah I was never sold on the guys they had then. They weren't rated as high as Frank Alex Blackjack Robin and Alverez.

You're a Bears fan right? How dare you be a fan of multiple Chicago teams? Have some integrity! I'm confident that I know more about the Sox than just about everyone here my age or younger.

Yeah, because nobody is a fan of different teams across different pro sports huh?

With time spent on this board and listening to sports radio, I probably know more about the Cubs than MANY of their supposed fans. There are probably MANY Cubs fans who know a lot about the Sox just because of their listening and viewing habits as well. That does not make me a fan of the Cubs, nor does it make IMU a fan of the Sox.

You're a band wagoner, and a front runner when it comes to baseball teams you root for. Which is perfectly fine as long as you don't deny it. No true Sox fan would have been in the bleachers draping themselves in a W flag during the NLCS last year. You were.

When Nas and I went to the World-Series-berth-clinching Game 6 of the NLCS last year, Nas couldn't stop saying he wishes it was the Sox playing for a chance to go to the World Series. At the end of the night though, he did manage to say something like 'I guess I had an okay time. I do enjoy watching the baseball."

Kinda hard to be a bandwagon fan when both teams have sucked for most of my life. That means I've dealt with twice as much disappointment and heartbreak as you. No one does that for shits and giggles. It's really odd that you take my fandom as some form of betrayal. No one forced my brother and I to choose teams so we chose Chicago. I'll always be comfortable with this decision.

There is no front running for Chicago baseball. There has been lots of pain. You've cried as much as you've laughed at the Cubs. I've figuratively and literally cried nearly all those times. I'm not a casual sports fan.

Who from the 2000/2001 class did the develop into quality major leaguers? Crede and Rowan's were on the team in 2001.

They waited to call Lopez up until he was safely out of range of being a Super Two. Time to see what he has, as long as they have a quick hook with him if he's not quite ready to go around a lineup twice.

Nas....I'm with you. I like both teams. I'm a Sox fan first, but I have no problem watching the enjoying the Cubs. I watched every playoff game in 2003 and felt terrible when the blew it. I very much enjoyed last season and watched a lot of it and almost every playoff game. Sure...I enjoyed 2005 a hell of a lot more, but last year I was yelling at Maddon through the TV in game 6 (like MANY) and enjoyed the end result when the Cubs won in spite of him. I know it's not the norm, but nothing wrong with being a Chicago fan.

Go ahead, guys. pound away. I can take it.
